Let’s see what’s inside the December 2017 “Play” GlobeIn box!
As always, everything was shipped in the signature green & white GlobeIn box.
A peek inside!
A small info booklet featured full color photos and background information on all of the products included in the box, as well as the artisans who created them.
Wooden Mini Puzzle, India ($20)
Playing with puzzles helps to improve your memory/mental speed and problem-solving skills, as well as promotes both motivation and relaxation. The puzzle above was handcrafted by Indian artisans using rosewood and sustainable mango wood. I love the rich colors of the wood and how smooth the pieces feel in your hand. I also appreciate the fact that they included a photo of the completed puzzle in case you get a little stuck. 😉
Rosewood Dice With Pouch, India ($12)
What fancy dice! These classic game pieces were hand-carved in India from rosewood and inlaid with brass numerical markings for a classy touch. GlobeIn suggests using these in place of standard plastic dice in your favorite board games, using them for a board-less dice game while traveling, or simply for helping your kids hone their math skills.
Sketchbook, India ($12)
This bright & cheerful sketchbook was designed without lines to allow you to fully unleash your creativity onto its pages. — Its paper-less pages, that is. Unlike traditional sketchbooks, this one is made using 100% recycled cotton rather than paper. Cotton scraps are collected from the textile industry and broken down into fibers and soaked to form a pulp. The pulp then gets pressed into sheets, hung to dry, and ironed to create the pages of your new book. Very cool!
Wooden Spinning Top, India ($10)
I’m not quite sure why, but spinning this wooden top is oddly satisfying. It takes a few tries for me to get it moving, but once it starts it’s a nice little sense of… accomplishment? Ha. Whatever it is, I like it. 😉 As with the other wooden pieces, this top was also handcrafted in India using various types of wood. (Note: The last photo is supposed to be blurry — it’s an action shot! 😀 )
Gift Tags – Set of 4, India ($6)
Like the sketchbook mentioned earlier, these pretty gift tags are made from 100% recycled cotton. The front of each tag features a whimsical print — some with metallic details, while the reverse side is blank to include a note for the recipient. They’re also pre-strung with twine for easily attaching to your gifts.
Mini Palm Leaf Basket, Mexico ($8)
While I like the standard size baskets GlobeIn often includes, these mini versions are definitely my favorites. 🙂 This one is roughly 4 inches tall and features a festive green and red color scheme. These are great for holding a variety of small treasures. — I’ve recently utilized one to hold my growing collection of essential oils. 🙂
What a fun box! I actually think this was one of my favorite GlobeIn collections to date. I have a serious fondness for random trinkets — even more so when they happen to be handcrafted. All of the items were great, but I think my favorites would have to be the wooden games/pieces. 🙂 — Remember, for a limited time you can get a FREE hand-painted mug with any new Premium GlobeIn Membership with coupon code “FREEMUG“!
