Let’s see what’s inside the January 2018 “Sophisticate” GlobeIn box!
As always, everything was shipped in the signature green & white GlobeIn box.
A peek inside!
A small info booklet featured full color photos and background information on all of the products included in the box, as well as the artisans who created them.
Ikat Wallet, India ($30)
This Ikat woven wallet was made by artisans belonging to a weaving cooperative in southern India. The 100% cotton ikat print was created by hand — from spinning the cotton, to dying the threads, to weaving the pattern. The snap closure opens up to reveal an interior zip purse, ID & credit card pockets, and plenty of additional places to stash money, receipts, and more.
Brave Bracelet, Uganda ($25)
The info card mentions that this piece was to include a charm engraved with the word “Brave”, but I only received the bracelet. (The charm attached is just the name of the company, Sseko.) Made by artisans in Uganda, this simple brass bracelet opens up to slide over your wrist and has plenty of room to attach additional charms.
Earth & Fire Necklace, India ($22)
This unique statement necklace was handcrafted in India using wood and brass. It features a beautifully etched fauna-inspired design that looks great against the warm wooden background. An easy way to add a little global flair to any outfit.
Decorative Tray, India ($15)
The perfect storage spot for your jewelry, this handcrafted tray is created entirely with recycled materials. Discarded cotton scraps are collected from the textile industry and broken down into fibers and soaked to form a pulp. The pulp then gets pressed into sheets, hung to dry, and ironed out to create your new tray. The process is tree-free, non-toxic, and conserves & filters water for reuse in irrigation.
January’s “Sophisticate” GlobeIn box provided a nice collection of artisan pieces to add to both your wardrobe and your home decor. My favorite pieces were the ikat wallet and the decorative tray. 🙂 — Remember, for a limited time you can get a FREE hand-painted mug with any new Premium GlobeIn Membership with coupon code “FREEMUG“!
