Let’s see what’s inside the June 2019 “Picnic” GlobeIn box!
Everything was shipped in a long pink & white box with the GlobeIn logo on the side.
A peek inside!
A small info booklet featured full color photos and background information on all of the products included in the box, as well as the artisans who created them.
Small Picnic Basket, Ghana ($40)
This handcrafted picnic basket is made entirely out of vetiver grass, which was rolled by hand and dyed to give it a vibrant hue. — The full process of rolling, dyeing, and weaving takes about seven days to complete! Due to its handmade nature, the basket isn’t very symmetrical, but that just adds to its charm. 🙂 I also love the simplicity of the closure, which consists of an attached loop and removable woven “lock” that secures the lid in place. The entire basket measures roughly 13 inches by 17 inches and is the ideal size for a 2-person picnic lunch.
Tall Handblown Glass – Red, White, & Blue (Set of 2), Mexico ($30)
GlobeIn often includes beautifully crafted glassware, but sometimes the pieces feel too “fancy” for everyday use. However, this particular handblown glass set is something I would use on the daily (and it’s dishwasher safe!). Their size — 5 inches tall by 3 inches in diameter — is perfect for water or juice and their thick walls make them feel very sturdy. The red, white, and blue design along the rims give them a fun, summery vibe — whether you pack them for a picnic or just sip your favorite drink at home.
Enamel Serving Tray – Blue Splatter, India ($18)
This hand-painted serving tray was crafted by Indian artisans using stainless steel and enamel. Though it looks black in the photos above, the “splatter” is a pretty dark blue color. The tray is food-safe and measures 9 inches long by 6 inches wide and is 1.25 inches deep. It can be used to serve food, as a catch-all trinket tray, or simply as a decorative piece.
Popchips Himalayan Salt Yes Peas Popped Pea Chips
These crispy snack chips are made with just 3 simple ingredients: whole green & yellow peas, sunflower and/or safflower oil, and Himalayan salt. Each serving has only 110 calories and 6 grams of plant-based protein. — These weren’t listed in the info booklet, so they were a nice surprise. 🙂
GlobeIn always does such a great job with their themes. June’s “Picnic” box was perfect for welcoming in the summertime with unique, handcrafted picnic-friendly pieces. I can’t even pick a favorite item this month, because I love them all! 😀 — Remember, for a limited time you can save $10 on your first Premium box with coupon code “WELCOME“!
