Time to check out the second May 2017 GlobeIn box! — This month subscribers were able to choose from two different themes — “Lunch” or “Epicure”. I reviewed the Lunch box a couple days ago, so now it’s Epicure time!
If you’re not aware, GlobeIn is a monthly subscription box that features handcrafted goods by artisans around the world. Each month features a new theme with products supplied by various artisans. GlobeIn helps to bring income and exposure to small artists, while introducing you to beautiful pieces of their culture. Many of the products included are eco-friendly, fairly traded, and/or organic.
Subscriptions are $40/month (shipping included), or less with multi-month commitments. — For a limited time, you can save $10 on your first month with any 3-month or longer subscription with coupon code “WELCOME“.
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Let’s see what’s inside the May 2017 “Epicure” GlobeIn box!
As always, everything was shipped in the signature green & white GlobeIn box.
A peek inside! — All of the breakables were securely protected with bubble wrap.
A small info booklet featured full color photos and background information on all of the products included in the box, as well as the artisans who created them.
Stemless Wine Glasses (Set of Two), Mexico ($30)
These incredibly colorful stemless wine glasses were handblown by hardworking artisans in Tonalá, Mexico. They’re super thick & sturdy and due to their handmade nature, no two glasses are exactly alike. While intended to hold wine, I’m thinking these would look awesome with a tealight candle flickering inside. 🙂
Neem Wood Cheese Board, India ($15)
This small cheese board is hand-carved by woodcarvers living in West Bengal, India. It’s made of soft neem wood and is very lightweight, making it ideal for taking along on a picnic. You can use it as a cheese board, for making sandwiches, serving fruit upon, and more.
Mouse Cheese Knife, India ($10)
Aw, what a cute cheese knife! This lil’ guy measures 7 inches long and was made by a group of stainless steel artisans located just outside of Moradabad, India. The group works exclusively with a fair trade collective called Noah’s Ark, who provides hundreds of artisans and their families with education, healthcare, clean water, and professional development.
Mini Handwoven Basket, Mexico ($10)
These signature baskets are included in many GlobeIn boxes and are woven entirely by hand. Each one can take hours to complete! This particular one is smaller than the standard baskets and measures just 3″ x 4″.
GlobeIn Greeting Card, ($3)
Also included was a flat 6″ x 4″ greeting card that simply read: “Time to wine down”. — The perfect card to send to your favorite wine lover!
One Hope Coupon Code
Lastly, there was a discount code for 20% off any purchase from One Hope, a company that “creates delightful products that inspire people to indulge and do good”.
Yet another great collection of artisan goods from GlobeIn! All of the items were beautifully made and the total retail value of the box was $68. Nice! — Remember, for a limited time you can save $10 on your first month with any 3-month or longer subscription with coupon code “WELCOME“.
