February GlobeIn Benefit Basket time! Once again I was sent both their standard Artisan Box, as well as this newest offering — the Benefit Basket.
If you’re not aware, GlobeIn is a monthly subscription box that features handcrafted goods by artisans around the world. Each month features a new theme with products supplied by various artisans.
GlobeIn helps to bring income and exposure to small artists, while introducing you to beautiful pieces of their culture. Many of the products included are eco-friendly, fairly traded, and/or organic. Subscriptions are $35/month (shipping included), or less with multi-month commitments.
In addition to their standard Artisan Box, they also offer a smaller Benefit Basket for just $19.95/month. Every Benefit Basket includes one artisan-made item, along with a handwoven palm leaf basket. — For a limited time, you can save $7 on your first month of a 3-month Benefit Basket subscription when you use coupon code “TRYBENEFIT“.
Let’s see what’s inside the February 2016 GlobeIn Benefit Basket!
As with the regular GlobeIn boxes, the Benefit Basket also featured a sticker with wording related to the month’s theme/product.
A peek inside. (I was surprised to see a square basket this month!)
The theme for February’s box was “Rise & Shine” and included a Le Souk Hand-Painted Bowl from Tunisia. The info card explains more about the pottery company and the hand-painted design featured on the bowl.
The reverse side of the info card/booklet featured photos of the bowl in use.
GlobeIn Signature Palm Leaf Basket Oaxaca, Mexico ($12) – As always, the box included a handwoven basket made of discarded palm leaves that can take hours to hand-weave. I was pleasantly surprised to see a square one with a lid. GlobeIn briefly flirted with sending a square lidless basket, so this lidded version was a nice alternative.
Hand-Painted Bowl by Le Souk Ceramique Tunisia ($14) – This pretty ceramic bowl features a Qamara design, whose geometric lines are lovingly hand-painted by artisans in Tunisia. It measures 6 inches wide and can be used for anything from cereal, to fruit, to holiday decor (see below 😉 ).
I temporarily filled mine with pink plastic eggs — it covers Valentine’s Day and Easter all at once! 😉
I love that February’s GlobeIn Benefit Basket included something that just about everyone can enjoy. I mean, who couldn’t use an extra bowl, right? Especially a pretty hand-painted one like this. 🙂
If you’d like to sign up for the GlobeIn Benefit Basket, you can use coupon code “TRYBENEFIT” to save $7 off your first month’s box with a purchase of a 3-month subscription!
