I was really, really relieved to see my February Glossybox perched inside my mailbox yesterday. Partly because my January box had gotten lost and was never delivered (they did credit my account), and partly because I knew it was going to be an epic box this month!
If you’re not aware, Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription box that sends 5-6 deluxe sized samples packed inside a super sturdy, reusable box. The packaging is top notch and only the highest quality brands are included. Like many of the other beauty subscriptions, you’ll fill out a personal beauty profile when you sign up so that they can send products that best suit your lifestyle, skin type, etc.
Subscriptions are $21/month and shipping is free. They also have a great rewards system where you can earn points for revewing the products you receive in your box. Once you’ve accumulated 1,000 points, you’ll earn a free month.
I had already seen (and posted) all of the spoilers for February’s box, but I still couldn’t wait to open it up.
Let the unboxing begin!
The box itself was freakin’ gorgeous. Sturdy as hell too. I save all of the heavy duty boxes I get from subscriptions, and this one is by far the prettiest one yet.
First look. Pretty box on the outside, equally pretty presentation inside.
The tri-fold Glossybox info cards are really awkward to photograph. Aside from that, they’re perfect… Photos of every product, descriptions, prices, and even tips on using them… It has everything.
Royal Apothic Tinties Lip Butter in Pink ($14) – Okay, how flippin’ neat is this lip butter?! I normally don’t get too excited over lip products (since I rarely wear ’em), but holy crapola… This is the cutest little pot of lip junk ever. It contains super conditioning ingredients including argan oil, shea butter, grape seed oil, and sweet almond oil. I haven’t tried it on yet, but according to the box it provides a hint of color so I’m hoping it’s subtle. Either way, I’ll still keep it laying around just to admire it’s loveliness. 😉
Rituals Cosmetics Foaming Shower Gel Sensation in Yogi Flow ($15) – I can’t say I’m too crazy about the thought of using body wash from a can, but it does smell really nice. It’s infused with Indian rose & sweet almond oil and turns from a gel into a foam within a few seconds. I’ll give it a try, but I don’t think it’ll be replacing my natural bar soaps anytime soon.
Julep Color Treat in Heartleigh ($14) – Nubby nails aside, this was a perfect polish for Valentine’s Day. I’ve used Julep polishes in the past, but never a glitter one. This is a limited edition shade that’s 5-free, vegan, and gluten-free. It was a little difficult to fish the tiny hearts out of the bottle, but I had fun doing my nails like a 5-year old. Clearly, I’m lacking skills in the polishing department. Ah well. Oh! The base color is from this month’s POPSUGAR Must Have box. 🙂
Unwash Bio-Cleansing Conditioner ($6.65) – An alternative to shampoo and conditioner, this moisturizing cleanser does the job of both. What it doesn’t do is strip your hair of natural oils and color. It’s also free of parabens and harsh sulfates.
Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Curl Mascara ($22) – This is a sculpting, curling mascara infused with moringa seed resin to dry and hold lashes into place. I really need to start using mascara more often because I have a TON thanks to subscription boxes.
I’m continuing to be super impressed with Glossybox. This is only my second month, but wow do they have some high value boxes. The total this month is roughly $71.65! Crazy good deal.
