Glossybox time! As usual, I had already seen (and posted) spoilers for June’s box, but you never know exactly what variations you’ll get until it arrives.
If you’re not aware, Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription box that sends 5-6 deluxe sized samples packed inside a super sturdy, reusable box. The packaging is top notch and only the highest quality brands are included. Like many of the other beauty subscriptions, you’ll fill out a personal beauty profile when you sign up so that they can send products that best suit your lifestyle, skin type, etc.
Subscriptions are $21/month and shipping is free. They also have a great rewards system where you can earn points for revewing the products you receive in your box. Once you’ve accumulated 1,000 points, you’ll earn a free month.
Alright, let’s check out my June Glossybox!
As always, the real Glossybox was shipped inside of a slightly larger outer box.
The tri-fold info pamphlet include photos of every product, descriptions, prices, and even tips on using them.
Too Faced Cosmetics Better Than Sex Mascara (~$14.50) – I’ve heard good things about this mascara. It’s supposed to be super buildable, resulting in ultra volumized lashes. Not sure about the whole “better than sex” thing though… 😉
Etre Belle Cosmetics Aloe Vera Ultra Moisturizing Gel ($24.95) – While the tube seems pretty small to me (1.36 oz), it appears that this is actually full size. The info card says that this works great to hydrate and give you a glowing complexion, which kinda surprised me… I’ve only ever used aloe vera on sunburn (mainly on my shoulders/back), so I’m probably going to reserve this for just that purpose.
ORLY Nail Lacquer in “Sheer Nude” (~$4) – I’m usually happy to get more polish, but it seems like 80% of the time it’s in a shade I don’t like. Such as this one. Borrrr-ing. Ah well.
Doucce Blush Brush ($32) – This is made with “natural hair fibers”, but I can’t find any info on exactly what the natural source is. I know some brushes use animal hair, so I’m guessing that’s the case here. That said, I have a Doucce Blush Brush for sale/trade. 😉
Rich Hair Care Pure Luxury Intense Moisture Shampoo ($3.99) – I don’t believe this was included in any of the spoilers, but I think it’s my favorite item in the box. It’s a super moisturizing shampoo infused with aloe vera extract, avocado oil and coconut oil for an intense boost of hydration.
Clearly, I didn’t love my June Glossybox. The value was absolutely there — just shy of $80! I just wasn’t personally thrilled with the selection of products. I was happy to see the pricey blush brush, until I realized it was likely made with animal hair. The shampoo will definitely get used, and possibly the mascara. Oh, and the aloe vera gel if I end up getting sunburn (which I’m obviously hoping I won’t need to use).
