Glossybox had a great coupon code for Black Friday (actually it was a glitch) that made your first box just $1.00 shipped. I couldn’t pass that up, so I quickly went to their site and scored one. Soon after, the glitch was fixed (it was supposed to take 20% off, not $20), but Glossybox was awesome enough to honor the $1 orders in the system. Yay!
Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription box that sends 5-6 deluxe sized samples packed inside a super sturdy, reusable box. The packaging is top notch and only the highest quality brands are included. Like many of the other beauty subscriptions, you’ll fill out a personal beauty profile when you sign up so that they can send products that best suit your lifestyle, skin type, etc.
Glossybox is $21/month and shipping is free. They also have a great rewards system where you can earn points for reviewing the products you receive in your box. Once you’ve accumulated 1,000 points, you’ll earn a free month.
Alright, time to see what’s in the box!
First look. So fancy!
The information card is a 3-panel foldout that includes photos of each product, as well as the price for full sized versions and helpful tips on how to get the most of of each item. (The rest of the products were on the other side, but I figured one photo of an info card is plenty, right?)
OPI Nail Lacquer in Pink Outside the Glossybox ($9.50) – I’m usually not a big fan of light/neutral nail shades (it actually looks a lot lighter in person than in my photo), but this isn’t too bad. It’s a Glossybox exclusive color, which is pretty neat. It’s full size too, so definitely not gonna complain.
Kneipp Herbal Bath – Balancing Lavender ($5.50) – I LOVE bath products, so I was happy to see this in the box. It’s a relaxing herbal bath treatment made with real essential oils that are said to enhance your mood and overall well-being. Sounds good to me.
Kryolan for Glossybox Blusher in Glossy Pink ($16.17) – As with the polish, this blush looks a lot less bold in person. It’s a nice pinky rose color that should work with most complexions (even my super duper white skin). It was made exclusively for Glossybox and is full size. Yay!
Juice Beauty Green Apple Age Defy Moisturizer ($11.25) – I’ve gotten a zillion Juice Beauty products from subscription boxes, so I’m kinda sick of seeing them. That said, it is a good product line and pretty dang pricey too!
12 Benefits Instant Healthy Hair Treatment ($4.50) – This versatile leave-in spray helps correct damage from heat styling, chemical processing, and all the other naughty things we do to our hair. It tames frizziness, boosts color, provides sunscreen, and more.
Overall, I was pretty satisfied with my first ever Glossybox. Especially for a dollar. 😉 The total value of all the items comes to $46.92 — double the regular cost of the box. Nice!
