Gramma in a Box is a monthly subscription box that sends the joy of fresh-baked cookies and a fun creative candy project each month.
Each box will feature a different theme that goes along with the current season/holiday — Valentine’s Day, Halloween, Springtime, Back to School, etc. It will include 12 fresh baked sugar cookies with 4 frostings & assorted sprinkles, as well as a fun candy craft that makes 8 treats to share — with a combined total of 20 cookies/treats in all. You’ll also receive full color step-by-step instructions with photos, ingredients and a list of any allergens present.

Let’s see what’s in the October 2021 Gramma in a Box shipment!
Everything was shipped in a Priority Mail envelope decorated with a few stickers related to this month’s theme.
The actual box was bright red with the Gramma in a Box logo printed on the sides.
A peek in the box!
Everything inside!
A note from “Gramma Terry” (yes, she’s a real gramma!) revealed October’s theme — “Halloween Theme Treats” and let us know about her YouTube channel that features step-by-step instruction videos for each project.
The reverse side of the note listed all of this month’s contents and the items we’ll need from home.
Sugar Cookie Cut-outs
A dozen pre-wrapped/sealed sugar cookie cut-outs were included in 4 different spooky designs — 3 pumpkins, 3 witch hats, 3 candy corns, and 3 ghosts.
Frosting
To frost the cookies, we received 4 pre-portioned frosting packs in orange, white, purple, and yellow.
Sprinkles
There were 6 little tubs of Halloween-themed sprinkles, all of which were sealed together in plastic wrap to prevent spillage. We received purple sugar crystals, candy eyes & mouths (for the candy craft), multi-colored nonpareils, multi-colored jimmies/sprinkles, black sugar crystals, and orange sugar crystals.
White Melting Chocolate
To make the candy craft, we received a tub of white chocolate melting chocolate disks.
Lollipop Sticks
The candy craft also required eight white lollipop sticks.
Wax Paper
To provide a clean and safe workspace, we also received a couple sheets of wax paper to assemble our treats on.
Tiny Erasers
Finally, to add to the Halloween fun, we received two tiny erasers — a spooky ghost and a happy vampire. 🙂
Treat making time!!
Ghost-sicles
The first project was for chocolate “ghost-sicles”. Materials used: white melting chocolate, lollipop sticks, candy eyes/mouths, and (optional) sprinkles.
To start, we needed to melt the white chocolate disks in a microwave-safe bowl until creamy & smooth.
We then placed a “dollop” of chocolate on top of each lollipop stick, spreading it with the back of a spoon to form an abstract ghost shape.
Candy eyes and mouths were added during the process. (I guess we were a little heavy-handed with our “dollops”, as we only had enough chocolate for 6 of the 8 sticks. Oops!)
Halloween Cookies
Cookie decorating time! Materials used: cut-out cookies, frosting, and sprinkles.
After carefully snipping the ends of each frosting bag, the girls dove right into decorating.
They both got the hang of piping pretty quickly, and it was fun to just sit back and watch them create. 🙂
I don’t know how, but we almost forgot about the sprinkles! They were more than happy to add them at the end.
Here are all of our completed treats! 😀
Spooky good!
My girls had SO much fun with October’s Gramma in a Box shipment! The ghost-sicles were super easy to make and turned out absolutely adorable. (Both kiddos have also reported that they taste “really good”.) The cookie decorating allowed them to be as creative as they wanted and they loved getting to choose from so many sprinkle options. 😉 Needless to say, they’re already looking forward to next month’s box! — Remember, for a limited time you can save $5 on your first month with coupon code “5OFF“!
