Let’s see what’s in the April 2017 Holly Journals box!
Everything was shipped in a small white box with a Holly Journals sticker on top.
A peek inside!
An info card revealed the theme for this month’s box — “Spring Ride” — and listed all of the items included inside. There was also a note from Holly revealing the inspiration behind some of the images and quotes throughout April’s journal.
The book itself was wrapped in pink & white striped paper and sealed with a sticker.
The Journal
April’s journal included a quote on the cover which read: How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives. A pretty bicycle illustration was printed underneath. As always, the book consisted of at least 50 2-sided pages of various paper textures, sizes, and colors.
The color palette this month was SO pretty!
I always love the inclusion of tiny envelopes. 😉
So many gorgeous pastels and floral prints.
I was pleasantly surprised to spot a quote by Henry Rollins. — Wasn’t quite expecting that. 😉
Attached to the inside back cover was a chevron striped pocket with a couple of paper scraps poking out. Surprises everywhere!
Journal Prompts
A helpful list of journal prompts was included to give you ideas of what to write about.
Pens
3 different pens were included this month. — A cute pink & white polka dotted pen with purple ink, an Easter-inspired bunny pen with black ink, and a gel pen with gold ink.
Embellishment Pack
April’s embellishment pack included a variety of pastel colored labels, paper clips, and stickers to add even more personality to the pages of your journal.
Journal Jewelry
I just realized that the bike in my photo is turned the wrong way… If it was turned the correct way (oops!), you could see that it has tiny little hearts inside the wheels where the spokes would be. Cute! I love that little birdie too.
Packet of Daisy Seeds
What’s Spring without flowers? Holly included a packet of daisy seeds so you can grow your own!
Garden Marker
Once you’ve planted those daisies, you can use this pretty metal marker to label their plot. It was hard to capture in a photo, but the little charm is dangly and can move on its own. Not sure why I’m pointing that out, but… there you go. 😉
Kasugai Flower Kiss Candies
Also included were a few classic Japanese “Flower Kiss” candies which (according to Amazon) have a unique milk and plum flavor. They’re individually wrapped with an image of birth flower (for all 366 days including the leap year day) and its flower meaning (in Japanese).
I loved all of the pretty pastel colors in April’s Spring/bicycle themed Holly Journals box. This month’s pens were especially cute and although I’ll likely end up killing them before they flower, the daisy seeds were a nice inclusion as well. 😉 — Remember, for a limited time you can save $4 on your first box with coupon code “4ROSE“!
