Ipsy time! I’ve been totally bombarded with a slew of boxes to review lately, so yeah… Better late than never?
If you’re new here, Ipsy is a beauty subscription that sends subscribers a monthly “Glam Bag” full of cosmetics and beauty accessories for just $10/month. When you sign up, you take a “beauty quiz” to determine your likes/dislikes, makeup preferences, etc. This helps Ipsy learn which products to send in your Glam Bag. Each bag will contain 4-6 full sized and deluxe sample sized products from top cosmetics brands.
A lot of different variations are sent each month, so you’ll see that other subscribers may have gotten totally different products than you did. Hopefully your beauty quiz answers match you with products that most meet your needs… But honestly, even if you only like one or two of the products, for $10 shipped it’s still a pretty good deal.
Let’s see what’s in my August 2015 Ipsy bag!
The Bag – August’s bag featured a houndstooth pattern in black and white with a hot pink zipper. Not exactly my favorite, but not awful.
Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in “Elegantly Wasted” ($15) – I was hoping to get a polish in this month’s bag and was excited to see that I did. It’s a full sized bottle featuring a pretty dark lilac color and the formula is both 5-free and vegan.
Skone Cosmetics Luxe Doubler Eye/Lip Pencil in “Wine“ ($12) – I don’t use lip liners and I’m not quite sure how this wine color will look on me as an eye liner. Soooo… Into the swap pile it goes!
Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Volumizing Blow Dry Spray ($3.50) – This dual-action spray claims to enhance the look of hair fullness with long-term thickness results. The formula is vegan and made with 98% natural ingredients.
Noyah Lipstick in “Desert Rose” (~$5?) – Sorry for the horrible photo quality… This lipstick sample is actually a lot lighter in person. It’s made with all natural ingredients including coconut oil, shea butter and vitamin E.
Eco-Beauty Good Night Night Cream (~$11) – I’m pretty sure I’ve received this in a past Ipsy bag (or maybe Birchbox?) because I remember the ridiculously high value for such a amount of product. This is supposed to give you super hydrated, plumper looking skin while you sleep.
I’m not thrilled with August’s Ipsy bag, but I definitely don’t hate it. I was happy to receive the pretty polish, which is actually worth more than the entire bag so I can’t complain. As usual, the total value was crazy high — roughly $46 in products!
Wanna check out Ipsy’s Glam Bag for yourself? Take their style quiz and then decide if you’d like to subscribe! (You’ll definitely get your money’s worth!)
