It’s finally Spring! So it only makes sense that Ipsy’s theme for March is “Floral Fantasy”. Peace out, snow.
If you’re new here, Ipsy is a beauty subscription that sends subscribers a monthly “Glam Bag” full of cosmetics and beauty accessories for just $10/month. When you sign up, you take a “beauty quiz” to determine your likes/dislikes, makeup preferences, etc. This helps Ipsy learn which products to send in your Glam Bag. Each bag will contain 4-6 full sized and deluxe sample sized products from top cosmetics brands.
A lot of different variations are sent each month, so you’ll see that other subscribers may have gotten totally different products than you did. Hopefully your beauty quiz answers match you with products that most meet your needs… But honestly, even if you only like one or two of the products, for $10 shipped it’s still a pretty good deal.
Let’s see what’s in my March Ipsy bag!
The bag itself featured a very fitting, brightly colored floral pattern. Not my favorite design, but not awful.
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Anti-Aging Mattifying Lotion (~$8) – An oil-free facial moisturizer that’s supposed to increase new cell turnover, lessen the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles, and minimize pores. My pores are most definitely out & proud, so hopefully this helps put ’em in their place.
NYX Cosmetics Butter Lipstick in “Hunk” ($6) – I was really hoping I wouldn’t get lipstick this month being that I don’t wear it, but alas, I did. The shade I received looked super dark, but wasn’t actually as scary once I swatched it. The top is what it looks like with a few swipes, while the bottom is just one. I would almost try to wear it as a tinted gloss if it were a more subtle shade.
Boo-Boo Cover-Up Concealer ($10) – I’m SO bummed about this one… It sounds like a neat product — a concealer that heals minor skin irritations/boo-boos while it hides them… BUT they only sent it in “medium”. Um, Ipsy? Not everyone has the same skin tone. I have very pale skin, so I know I won’t be able to pull this off. If anything it’ll bring MORE attention to my “boo-boos”.
Jessica Liebeskind Illuminating Face Highlighter (~$10?) – This is currently sold out on their site and the price isn’t listed, so I had to guesstimate. For a subtle shimmer, sweep this over the apples of your cheeks (alone or on top of blush). You can also dust a little on your forehead, nose, and chin for an all-over glow.
Lashem 3 in 1 Eye Bright (~$10) – A concentrated serum that’s supposed to diminish the look of dark circles and fine lines around the eyes. I’m a little overloaded with anti-aging serums right now, so I’m not too excited about this one.
I’m honestly not too excited about anything in my Ipsy bag this month. I’m tired of getting lip products I’ll never use and the fact that they sent out one single shade of concealer to everyone really irked me. I’ll try the highlighter and lotion, but I’m not in any hurry to. The total value of all of the products this month comes to roughly $44, so I guess you can’t really argue with that. I guess…

I can’t believe they sent you that concealer! I received it as well, but I figured that’s just because my profile lists medium skin tone and they had to get rid of a bunch! Ah well, hopefully you will be able to swap it for something better. The Vintage blush/highlighter looks gorgeous!

Yeah, kinda makes me wonder why they even have us fill out profiles if they just send whatever they want anyway. According to the description on their site, *everyone* got medium. Not a huge deal, but it would have been nice to be able to try it out. As much as they disappoint me, I just can’t quit them! haha
