I received my October Ipsy Glam Bag last week and was happy to see that the one item I was really hoping I’d receive was indeed inside. Score! It was even in the scent I was hoping for too. Double score!
If you’re not aware, Ipsy is a beauty subscription that sends subscribers a monthly “Glam Bag” full of cosmetics and beauty accessories for just $10/month. When you sign up, you take a “beauty quiz” to determine your likes/dislikes, makeup preferences, etc. This helps Ipsy learn which products to send in your Glam Bag. Each bag will contain 4-6 full sized and deluxe sample sized products from top cosmetics brands.
A lot of different variations are sent each month, so you’ll see that other subscribers may have gotten totally different products than you did. Hopefully your beauty quiz answers match you with products that most meet your needs… But honestly, even if you only like one or two of the products, for $10 shipped it’s still a pretty good deal.
Okay, onto my October bag! The theme this month is “Beauty Candy” and here’s what was inside…
The Bag – When I heard the name of the theme I was kinda hoping for a bag with a whimsical, candy-inspired print. Needless to say, when I saw this blue patent leather looking one, I was a wee bit bummed. Ah well. It’s not awful.
What’s Inside October’s Ipsy Glam Bag
Figs & Rouge Mango Mandarin Hand Cream ($8.49) – Here it is! This is the item I was hoping to get. I had heard good things about this hand cream and my stash from other boxes is getting surprisingly low. The mango mandarin scent is amazing and I can’t wait to finish my current tube so I can start this one.
Skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths ($5) – A pack of ten cleansing cloths that don’t require any water or rinsing after use. They’re labeled as vegan and are free of parabens, chemical sulfates, dyes, and other icky stuff. I’m pretty set on my current face cleansing routine, but I suppose I could use these if I were feeling extremely lazy. Or sick. Or… something.
MICABeauty Mineral Eyeshadow in “Harlequin” ($14.28) – This is a 100% natural mineral shadow that’s totally free of dyes, preservatives, talc, etc. I love the pretty blue/green color and the fact that it’s FULL SIZED.
Noyah “Deepy in Mauve” Lipstick ($9 for this sample size, full is $18) – I was pretty bummed to see a lipstick in my bag since I never wear the stuff. I DO appreciate that it’s made with natural ingredients and never tested on animals, but still… it’s lipstick. Boo.
Kiss i-Envy Lashes ($5.50) – I’ve never worn false lashes in my life and I’m kind of scared to try. The whole “putting glue on my eyelid” thing freaks me out just a wee bit. I just don’t see it going well…
The total value (using Amazon prices) of all the items in my October Ipsy Glam Bag comes to an impressive $42.27. So even though I’ll probably only use 2, or maybe 3 of the products, it’s still a great deal for just $10 a month. The mineral eye shadow alone is worth more than what I pay for the subscription. Can’t argue with that!
