While I’m a little late with my June Ipsy review, I gotta say, it’s one of the better ones I’ve received in months. Yay!
If you’re new here, Ipsy is a beauty subscription that sends subscribers a monthly “Glam Bag” full of cosmetics and beauty accessories for just $10/month. When you sign up, you take a “beauty quiz” to determine your likes/dislikes, makeup preferences, etc. This helps Ipsy learn which products to send in your Glam Bag. Each bag will contain 4-6 full sized and deluxe sample sized products from top cosmetics brands.
A lot of different variations are sent each month, so you’ll see that other subscribers may have gotten totally different products than you did. Hopefully your beauty quiz answers match you with products that most meet your needs… But honestly, even if you only like one or two of the products, for $10 shipped it’s still a pretty good deal.
Let’s see what’s in my June 2015 Ipsy bag!
The bag – I don’t mind the overall design/color of this month’s bag, but the velvety texture is a freakin’ magnet for lint and other random specks of… stuff. Ah well.
Formula X Nail Color in Power Source (~$2) – This shade looked a lot more “coral-y” in the spoilers, but it’s definitely more on the pink side in person. I always hope to get polish in my bag and rarely do, so I was happy to see this cute mini. A full size would have been awesome, but this’ll do.
Befine Food Skin Care Cucumber Facial Mask (~$6) – I’m a fan of masks and always like trying out new ones. This is made with natural fruit & vegetable extracts including cucumber, pomegranate, and watermelon. The formula helps to repair, rejuvenate, and revitalize the skin as it sloughs away dead skin cells.
TreStique Mini Shadow Crayon in Kona Coffee (~$10) – The cap on this shadow crayon is actually designed to look like the tip of… a shadow crayon. Needless to say, I dug around in my bag and then in the mailing pouch desperately trying to locate the “missing cap”. Ugh. You got me, crayon. Well done. You’re lucky that I like your shade and can use you.
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer (~$8) – I’ve never used primer before, so I wasn’t too excited to see this… However, after reading the description of how it’s supposed to reduce the appearance of pores and fine lines, I just may have to try it out.
IT Cosmetics Brow Power in Universal Taupe ($12) – I’ve been really wanting to do something with my brows lately, but wasn’t sure what they needed (if anything?). This universal brow pencil is designed to help you shape and define your brows for a natural, polished look. I tried it out, but wasn’t sure where to fill ’em in, so… I guess it looked okay? I’ll have to keep playing around with it. Makeup application is NOT one of my strengths.
As I mentioned earlier, this is totally one of the better Ipsy bags I’ve gotten in a long time. I love getting polish in beauty boxes/bags, and I’ll use all of the other products except maybe the primer (undecided). All totaled, the value for my June Ipsy bag is roughly $38!
