June 2016 Ipsy review time!
If you’re new here, Ipsy is a beauty subscription that sends subscribers a monthly “Glam Bag” full of cosmetics and beauty accessories for just $10/month. When you sign up, you take a “beauty quiz” to determine your likes/dislikes, makeup preferences, etc. This helps Ipsy learn which products to send in your Glam Bag. Each bag will contain 4-6 full sized and deluxe sample sized products from top cosmetics brands.
A lot of different variations are sent each month, so you’ll see that other subscribers may have gotten totally different products than you did. Hopefully your beauty quiz answers match you with products that most meet your needs… But honestly, even if you only like one or two of the products, for $10 shipped it’s still a pretty good deal.
Let’s see what’s in my June 2016 Ipsy bag!
The Bag – June’s bag featured a super colorful graffiti design with a bright purple zipper. — One of my favorite Ipsy bags to date!
Urban Decay Eyeshadow in “Fireball” – I believe this was one of the first spoilers for June. Subscribers could have received this shadow in “Lounge” (a reddish-brown with teal-green shimmer) or the one above, “Fireball”. The latter features a peachy-gold shimmer shade that transitions to pink tones in different light. It does look pretty, but I don’t need any more eyeshadow, so… Into the swap pile it goes!
Be a Bombshell Pout Potion in “Secret” – While I don’t really wear lipgloss, I do like this shade. “Secret” is a soft nude pink that I would almost wear if the formula had more natural ingredients. The description says that it’s pina colada scented, which is kinda neat. Still, off to the swap pile she goes.
Delectable by Cake Beauty Everything Balm – This confection-inspired “everything balm” can be used for, well, just about everything. It moisturizes skin, conditions cuticles, softens heals, seals split ends, brightens dark circles, tames brows, and more. The formula is paraben-free, phthalate-free, and gluten-free.
Formula X Nail Polish in “Wingwoman” – I always like getting polish in my Ipsy bags. This one is a super bold red shade from Formula X, which isn’t too exciting but I’ll take it. The formula is long-lasting and 100% free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.
Crown Brush 3 Tone Bronzer – Meh. I don’t wear bronzer, so this is definitely a swap item. I do like that it resembles a carton of Neapolitan ice cream though. 😉
I wasn’t crazy about my June Ipsy products, but the bag itself was super cute! I suppose I’ll use the nail polish and maybe the everything balm, but the rest will be swapped. I didn’t do a cost breakdown, but it’s clearly worth more than the $10 monthly price point. 🙂
Wanna check out Ipsy’s Glam Bag for yourself? Take their style quiz and then decide if you’d like to subscribe! (You’ll definitely get your money’s worth!)
