March Ipsy time! Once again, the value was impressive, but the items…. Ehhh.
If you’re new here, Ipsy is a beauty subscription that sends subscribers a monthly “Glam Bag” full of cosmetics and beauty accessories for just $10/month. When you sign up, you take a “beauty quiz” to determine your likes/dislikes, makeup preferences, etc. This helps Ipsy learn which products to send in your Glam Bag. Each bag will contain 4-6 full sized and deluxe sample sized products from top cosmetics brands.
A lot of different variations are sent each month, so you’ll see that other subscribers may have gotten totally different products than you did. Hopefully your beauty quiz answers match you with products that most meet your needs… But honestly, even if you only like one or two of the products, for $10 shipped it’s still a pretty good deal.
Let’s see what’s in my March 2016 Ipsy bag!
The Bag – Roses! I love the mint green background on this bag. Some subscribers received different color variations and I’m happy I got this one. 🙂
Pixi by Petra Beauty Blush Duo in Rose Gold ($18) – This full-size blush duo features a sheer pink sheen with a white gold highlight. Each shade can be worn alone or together for a layered look. Not really an item I need, but I’m impressed that it’s full size.
Margaret Dabbs London Super Shiner Buffer ($12) – A handy “super shiner buffer” that uses tiny crystal technology to instantly shine and illuminate your nails. Another item that I don’t need right now, since I’ve been biting the hell out of my nails again :(, but I’ll put it away for later use.
Manna Kadar Cosmetics Eye Shadow in Fantasy ($19) – This 3-in-1 shadow can be used as an eyeshadow, blush, or highlighter. It’s highly pigmented and gives a metallic look when applied with a little water. I liked it until I noticed the ingredients included parabens. :/
NYX Cosmetics Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick ($7) – Mehhhh. I don’t wear anything on my lips but sheer gloss and lip balm, so this ridiculously bright red “Kitten Heels” lipstick will be passed along to someone who does.
Alterna Haircare Caviar Anti-Aging Miracle Multiplying Volume Mist (~$7) – Wait… this stuff is actually made with real caviar extract?! Yeah, no thanks. 🙁
Once again, I found myself pretty underwhelmed by my Ipsy bag. While the value was totally there (roughly $63 in products!), the items just weren’t for me. It was nice to see so many full-sized products, but I think the only thing I’ll be using this month is the actual bag itself.
Wanna check out Ipsy’s Glam Bag for yourself? Take their style quiz and then decide if you’d like to subscribe! (You’ll definitely get your money’s worth!)

Do you review the products they send you? I found that after a few months of product reviews, I started getting more of what I wanted.

I do! Maybe I’ll get better results if I stop? 😉
