November Ipsy time!
If you’re new here, Ipsy is a beauty subscription that sends subscribers a monthly “Glam Bag” full of cosmetics and beauty accessories for just $10/month. When you sign up, you take a “beauty quiz” to determine your likes/dislikes, makeup preferences, etc. This helps Ipsy learn which products to send in your Glam Bag. Each bag will contain 4-6 full sized and deluxe sample sized products from top cosmetics brands.
A lot of different variations are sent each month, so you’ll see that other subscribers may have gotten totally different products than you did. Hopefully your beauty quiz answers match you with products that most meet your needs… But honestly, even if you only like one or two of the products, for $10 shipped it’s still a pretty good deal.
Let’s see what’s in my November 2015 Ipsy bag!
The Bag – November’s bag featured a fun outer space design, which I’m guessing appealed a lot more to the younger subscribers. I don’t love the look, but the colors are pretty!
Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara (~$9) – I’ve been using mascara daily for a few months now, so I’m always happy to try out new ones. This promises to increase lash volume by 104% without any clumps or flakes.
Figs & Rouge Avance Mattifying Emulsion & Pore Refiner (~$17) – This primer provides sheer matte coverage for daily shine control. It also helps diminish blemishes & outbreaks with regular daily use. I’ve never used a primer before, but I suppose I could give it a try and see if there’s any difference.
TreStique Mini Matte Lip Crayon in “Nantucket Nude” (~$8) – I normally don’t wear lip products, but this nude shade just may work for me. I’ve gotten one of these crayons in a previous bag and was totally tricked by the cap design. I kept digging around looking for what I thought was a missing cap, when it was actually on there the whole time. This time I knew what was up. 😉
Mai Couture Hello Gorgeous Makeup Paper Travel Blush (~$3) – I’ve never seen anything like this before… It’s a packet of “blush papers” that let you easily apply blush on the go without the need for compacts or brushes. The pack contains 10 sheets which is enough for 10 applications — rip one sheet in half to use on each cheek.
J. Cat Skinny & Long Eye Pencil in Dark Grey ($3) – I was going to use this, but was a little surprised at how inexpensive it was… So I looked at the ingredients list and noticed petrolatum, BHT, propylparaben, and lanolin (not vegan), so I think I’ll pass.
I’m pretty happy with my November Ipsy bag. My favorite item is the mascara, which is alone is almost worth the cost of the entire bag. I like the nude shade of the lip crayon, and I might try the primer. I don’t wear blush too often, so I don’t know about the makeup sheets. Overall, not a bad month. The total estimated value of everything was about $40! Can’t beat that for a $10/month subscription. 🙂
