Ipsy is a beauty subscription that sends subscribers a monthly “Glam Bag” full of cosmetics and beauty accessories for just $13/month.
When you sign up, you take a “beauty quiz” to determine your likes/dislikes, makeup preferences, etc. This helps Ipsy learn which products to send in your Glam Bag. Each bag will contain 4-6 full sized and deluxe sample sized products from top cosmetics brands. Products can include makeup, skincare, hair care, nail care, and even beauty tools.
Disclosure: Bag was received for review purposes. Post may contain affiliate links.
Many different brand/product variations are sent each month, so you’ll see that other subscribers may have gotten totally different products than you did. If all goes well, your beauty quiz answers will match you with products that most meet your needs… But honestly, even if you only like one or two of the products, for $13 shipped it’s still a pretty good deal. (Plus, you’ll always get a cute new bag!)
Subscriptions are $13/month with free shipping within the US (only $2.95 extra to Canada).
Let’s see what’s in my October 2022 Ipsy bag!
Everything was shipped in a pink bubble mailer with the Ipsy logo in the center.
An info card revealed the theme of the October 2022 Glam Bag and included a few fun Halloween looks for last-minute costume inspiration.
The bag itself was solid black with a subtle raised spider web design on the front. The back featured an Ipsy logo in metallic silver, while the purple fabric around the zipper added a pop of color. Halloween-y vibes were leveled up with the addition of a little silver spider charm on the end of the zipper pull. Cuuute!
TATCHA The Dewy Skin Cream
This rich, moisturizing skin cream is designed to hydrate and plump — leaving your skin with a dewy, healthy glow. Key ingredients include Japanese purple rice (protects against pollution & stress), Okinawa algae (provides a boost of hydration), and hyaluronic acid. It’s ideal for dry skin, but is also great for those with combination skin who prefer a moisturizer with a richer texture. To use, simply massage a pearl-sized amount onto face, neck and décolletage in upward strokes.
Christophe Robin Hydrating Melting Mask
Christophe Robin specializes in vegan-friendly haircare products that are made from naturally derived ingredients, are color-safe, and free of parabens, phthalates, silicones, ammonia, and other icky stuff. The Hydrating Melting Mask above is a weightless mask that helps hydrate, reduce frizz, and boost shine — resulting in smoother, silkier hair. It’s formulated with aloe vera to deliver intense moisture, along with flaxseed oil to help deeply nourish and strengthen. To use: Twice a week, work a small amount onto freshly-shampooed, wet hair from root to tip. Let it sit for at least two minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
Lottie London Wing Woman Liquid Eyeliner in Black
This ultra-pigmented liquid liner features an easy to maneuver tip that makes creating both thin and thick lines a breeze. — For a precise line, apply using the fine tip of the pen. For a thicker, bolder turn the tip on its side. Its long-lasting formula is both vegan-friendly and cruelty-free. I haven’t rocked the cat eye look in a long time, but this will be nice to have on hand if I’m ever feeling a little daring. 😉
Basic Beauty Lip Gloss in Literally
Basic Beauty is a black-owned indie brand with a mission to create cruelty-free, long-lasting cosmetics with high quality, paraben-free ingredients. The lip gloss above claims to be everything you could want in a gloss — shimmery, shiny, moisturizing, and plumping but zero percent sticky or tacky. “Literally” is a pretty mauve-ish shade that should work well for all skin tones. It can be worn alone or layered with your favorite neutral lip color.
Onekind Clean Slate Gentle Cleansing Cream
Easily cleanse & refresh your skin with this makeup-melting cream that helps to remove dead skin cells and dirt without disturbing your skin’s natural moisture barrier. Papaya and pineapple enzymes help to brighten and soften, while apricot kernel and sunflower seed oils nourish and hydrate your skin. To use: Massage a generous amount onto damp skin morning and night. Thoroughly rise clean with lukewarm water.
My October 2022 Ipsy Glam Bag included a nice selection of skincare, haircare and cosmetics. My personal favorites were the Christophe Robin Hydrating Melting Mask, Basic Beauty Lip Gloss, and Lottie London Wing Woman Eyeliner. 🙂 — Thinking of trying out Ipsy’s Glam Bag for yourself?
