Bestowed is a monthly subscription box that features healthy snacks & foods carefully chosen by nutritionist/author Heather Bauer.
Boxes are only $19/month (including shipping!) and contain a nice variety of different snacks, food items, and beverages to help you start or maintain a healthy lifestyle. There’s a nice lil’ code at the end of this post that’ll save you $9 on your first box (making it just $10!).
January’s Bestowed box focuses on making positive changes in the new year, starting with small choices — like the snacks you choose to eat.
So what’s inside? Let’s take a gander!
Beanfield’s Bean & Rice Chips in Pico de Gallo – Yeaaah! I love Beanfield’s! I was hoping for Nacho (my favorite), but these are good too. All of their chips are vegan and made with rice & beans. Definitely a healthier alternative to regular (*cough*Doritos*cough*) tortilla chips.
Cooggies Mini Cookies in Oatmeal Raisin & Double Chocolate – These little cookies are made with all natural ingredients including plenty of real vegetables. A perfect way to trick yo’ kiddies into eating their veggies.
Oatworks Pomegranate Blueberry Smoothie – All-natural fruit smoothie made with whole oats and real fruit juice. This has no artificial sweeteners and is vegan/gluten-free. It also contains more fiber than two bowls of oatmeal. That’s a whole lotta roughage!
Rainbow Light Counter Attack – I used Rainbow Light prenatal vitamins when I was pregnant with the girls — the fact that they say “VeganGuard” (safe for vegans) right on the bottle is what sold me. These supplement tablets have the same promise. Counter Attack is an herbal supplement that you take at the first sign of “seasonal discomfort”. Contains 30 tablets.
Balance Bar in Dark Chocolate Peanut – Gluten-free protein bar with just 180 calories and tons of fiber & protein. Sadly, it’s not vegan, so I wasn’t able to try it. Poo.
Salba Chia Boost – This was included as a “surprise from past boxes”. I did receive this a few months ago and used it in a smoothie. Chia seeds are awesome sources of omega-3’s, fiber, and even calcium.
Skratch Exercise Hydration Mix in Lemon Lime – This was another “past box favorite” that was included this month. I don’t exercise (ugh), but I did use this over the summer on a ridiculously hot day. I never drink enough water, so I hoped this would help keep me hydrated. No idea if it did, but it tasted alright. 😉
EBOOST Natural Energy Shot in Berry-Melon – This is an all-natural energy shot made with coconut water, green tea, and other natural ingredients. It’s only 50 calories and gluten free.
Coupons! – Three coupons were included this month for FREE products! Woo! One for a free bottle of Reed’s Culture Club Kombucha, one for a free cup of Stonyfield Organic Greek Yogurt, and one for a free Nasoya Tofu product. Yay, free stuff!! Totally excited about the tofu one!
If you’d like to try out Bestowed for yourself, they’re offering new members a great deal on their first box. If you click here and use the code “HELLOYUM77“, you’ll save $9 — making your first box just $10. Not bad! But hurry — offer ends 2/15/14!
