Let’s see what’s in our August 2021 Kidpik box!
Everything was shipped in a brown box with the Kidpik logo on top.
A peek inside!
A sticker affixed to the inner lid let me know that the box was styled especially for my daughter.
Enclosed was a packing slip that listed all of the items inside, along with the individual price for each item and the lower price you’d pay for each piece if you chose to keep the entire box.
In our “style profile”, I indicated that the items would be for my 9-year-old daughter (currently size 7/8), who likes dresses and doesn’t wear jeans. I also chose the “no shoes” option.
Asymmetrical Ruffle Top in White ($22.50 or $11.25 if I kept the whole box)
The first item my daughter tried on was this cute asymmetrical sleeveless top. I personally thought it was adorable and loved the dainty collar & striped pattern throughout. The fit was a little big on my kiddo, but she did say that she liked the big ruffle detail that ran across the front. Our only issue was not being sure what she would pair with this, as she mostly wears leggings.
Colored Denim Jacket in Ceramic ($32.50 or $16.25 keep all price)
and
Colored Denim Skirt in Ceramic ($25.50 or 12.75 keep all price)
Okay, I’m going to be 100% honest… This matching denim jacket & skirt set was not a hit with my kiddo. As someone who doesn’t like to wear jeans, she made up her mind before even trying these on. I thought the jacket looked cute and had a nice fit, but she wouldn’t budge. On the other hand, the skirt was way too large on her (she’s naturally thin and has trouble fitting into a lot of pants/skirts). If she wasn’t holding it up by having her hands in her pockets, the skirt would have been on the floor. 😉
Star Cold Shoulder Dress in Navy ($26.50 or $13.25 keep all price)
Despite her awkward pose above, this star-print dress was her favorite item in the box. Although it was a bit large on her tiny frame (I *think* the sleeves were supposed to be quarter length), it did look cute and she loved the fun star pattern. I think the fit would be a lot better in a year or so, or when (if?!) she gets some more meat on her bones. (Though her dad is still waiting for this himself… 😉 Skinny definitely runs in the family. )
Flag/Earth Sequin Flip Tee in Navy ($16.50 or $8.25 keep all price)
“Flip” sequins on clothing have been popular for quite a while now and they don’t seem to be going away anytime soon. But why would they? They’re COOL. With the navy tee above, you can sport your pride in America one second, and show the Earth some love the next. I’m always a little leery when it comes to t-shirts for my kiddos, as they tend to be too large but this one fit perfectly.
Rhinestone Hair Clip Set ($3.50 or $1.75 keep all price)
Although I forgot to snap a photo of these in her hair, my daughter loved this set of sparkly hair clips. The navy, light blue, and silver “jewels” looked even sparklier in person and I loved that they had sturdy metal clips that held securely to her thick/curly hair.
As mentioned before, a pre-paid mailer allows you to easily send back any exchanges and/or items that you’ve chosen not to keep.
My daughter loved receiving a box of clothing items that Kidpik had chosen just for her. Although a couple of the items weren’t exactly her style (the denim), the majority of the pieces were definite “wins”. I really appreciate how easy it is to send back the items that didn’t work out — at no cost to me — and only keep those that we loved. 🙂 — Remember, for a limited time you can score FREE shipping & 50% off your order (when you keep the entire box) with coupon code “KPBOX50A“!
