Let’s see what’s in our September 2019 Kidpik box!
Everything was shipped in a brown box with the Kidpik logo on top.
A peek inside!
Enclosed was a packing slip that listed all of the items inside, along with the individual price for each item and the lower price you’d pay for each piece if you chose to keep the entire box.
In our “style profile”, I indicated that the items would be for my 7-year-old daughter (currently size 6), who likes dresses and the color pink. I also chose the “no shoes” option.
Stripe Cold Shoulder Sweater Dress ($25.50/$17.85)
The first piece was a navy/lavender/pink striped sweater dress with cut-outs on the shoulders. Ruffled details near the collar added an extra bit of girly flair. It’s constructed of a polyester/rayon/cotton/spandex blend, so I’ll probably let it hang dry to avoid any shrinkage. (Prices listed are to keep individually or as kept as part of the entire box.)
This was the first thing my daughter wanted to try on and she LOVED it! It fits perfectly and will be great for the upcoming cooler weather.
Kind is Cool Oversized Tee ($14.50/$10.15)
I was so happy to see a positive/inspirational message tee over something more cliche (and lame) like “princess” or “cutie”. 😉 The fun metallic heart design was a nice touch too.
I wasn’t sure just how oversized this oversized tee would look, but it’s not too bad! — Especially on my tiny 44-pound 7-year-old.
Colored Denim Skirt ($25.50/$17.85)
In our style profile I indicated “no jeans” due to fit issues (tiny kid=equally tiny waist), but I did approve skirts so I guess I’m okay with this jean skirt. (Though like actual jeans, it IS too loose around the waist.) I’ll just hold onto it until she puts on a few more pounds. 😉
The skirt did manage to stay on without completely sliding down, so that’s a plus!
Colored Denim Jacket ($32.50/$22.75)
While the matching skirt was too large (at no fault of Kidpik), this jacket was actually too small. The hang tag read size “XS 5/6” (our size), but the sewn-in tag — its actual size — read “XXS 4”. Thankfully, Kidpik offers FREE returns/exchanges, so I was able to send this back in the pre-paid envelope in exchange for the correct size.
The jacket is clearly designed to be cropped, but another size up (the correct size) would definitely look better.
Denim Shirt Dress ($32.50/$22.75)
I have to admit, I’m not really a fan of denim when it comes to dresses or shirts, but I really liked the style of this one. The pretty opalescent buttons and fringed detailing along the bottom give it a softer, more feminine vibe.
The fit was perfect on my daughter and it’ll make another great piece for fall.
Sherpa Backpack ($22.50/$15.75)
What kid wouldn’t love a super furry backpack? Mine certainly did! This fun bag features blue faux fur, adjustable straps, a large main compartment and a second smaller one (both with zippers).
Too cute!
Free Gift
Every box comes with a free gift that’s yours to keep regardless of what you decide to send back. We received a colorful elephant bracelet that adjusts to fit wrists of all sizes.
Finally, a pre-paid mailer allows you to easily send back any exchanges and/or items that you’ve chosen not to keep.
My daughter was so excited to receive her September Kidpik box and couldn’t wait to see what was inside! Her favorite items were the striped sweater dress (before she even had a chance to try it on) and the furry backpack, while I was (surprisingly!) a big fan of the denim dress. Even though one of the items was labeled incorrectly and led to us receiving the wrong size, it was super easy to just toss it in the pre-paid mailer and exchange it for the correct one at no cost to us. Our first Kidpik experience was definitely a positive one and we’re happy with the pieces they selected. 🙂 — Remember, for a limited time you can save 50% on your first Kidpik box!
