Kids’ Candor is a new subscription box that sends your child a new collection of interactive bilingual learning materials every month.
Monthly kits are delivered based on your child’s age, ranging from infant through preschool. Each bilingual kit (in English and Spanish) will contain games, original music, activities, toys, and more. Boxes also feature a new theme every month — from food & drink, to shapes, letters, and other fun categories. The kits are designed not only to make learning fun for your little one, but also to promote key development skills.
Subscriptions are $45/month for the “Full Version”, or $25/month for the “Essential Version” (which omits the toys and a few supporting materials). — For a limited time, you can save 50% on your first kit with coupon code “KC50” at checkout!
Let’s see what’s in the Kids’ Candor “Time to Eat!” box!
The box!
A peek inside. — Happy produce!
A welcome note explained more about the subscription and the importance of quality human interaction in teaching little ones.
The box I received was designed for children aged 6 through 12 months. Provided was information about developmental milestones at this age and tips on how to go about using the materials in the box in the most effective manner.
Activity Cards – 20 activity cards were included which help to guide you through the materials in the box. Activities include baby-friendly matching games, sorting, rolling objects, and more — all with a focus on language.
Each activity card was printed in English on one side and Spanish on the other.
“Time to Eat” CD – A kid-friendly music CD featured 12 tracks which were all sung in both Spanish and English. The original songs all had a common theme — healthy foods! Full lyrics were also printed in both languages on the CD case.
Plush Fruits & Veggies – These little plush fruits & veggies are just TOO cute! My kiddos are currently obsessed with pretend produce (‘course they still won’t touch the real thing!), so I knew they’d be all about these. Included were a happy pineapple, string beans, and a bunch of grapes.
Fruit & Vegetable Flash Cards – A ring of laminated fruit & vegetable flash cards served as a great visual tool to help your baby associate words with pictures. Again, both Spanish and English words & pronunciations were included.
Healthy Foods from A to Z Book – This nice hardcover picture book is great for teaching your child about healthy foods, as well as their ABC’s. It features fun food collages with individual photos of foods starting with each letter of the alphabet and their corresponding name in English and Spanish. The brightly colored foods are sure to grab a child’s attention and the book even includes a glossary of “fun facts” for parents, as well as food-related project ideas.
Kids’ Candor seems like a great way to begin introducing your child to a second language and I believe it’s currently the only subscription box of its kind. I was really impressed by the fact that they produce their own original music CDs and supporting materials (aside from the book & toys, of course). The activities were all very straight-forward and easy enough to incorporate into a daily routine.
Remember — for a limited time you can save 50% on your first Kids’ Candor kit with coupon code “KC50” at checkout!
