Kloverbox recently offered a special edition “Back to School” kid’s box for preschool aged children thru age 8. Since I always enjoy their regular monthly boxes, I decided to order one for my girls. The box was $50 shipped and promised “eco-friendly school essentials, organic health & nutrition and some unique finds kids (and adults) are sure to love”.
If you’re not aware, Kloverbox is a monthly subscription box that features eco-friendly products ranging anywhere from snacks and personal products to makeup, household goods, and more. The purpose of the box is to introduce you to “cleaner” versions of the products you use on a daily basis. The subscription is $25/month (shipping included) or less with longer commitments. (Psst… You can save 10% off any length subscription when you use my exclusive coupon code “2LRB10” at checkout!!)
Let’s see what’s in the Back to School Special Edition Kloverbox!
Just as they do with their monthly boxes, Kloverbox included a personalized note. — In this case, it was for my daughter, Everly. (Her twin sis got a box too, but other than some color variations, everything was the same so I’m just reviewing this one.) There wasn’t an info card, so I’ll just jump right to the products…
Spark & Spark Waterproof Labels Set ($22) – I was excited to see something with Ev’s name on it, since we can’t exactly go into a shop and find… well, anything with her name on it. Unless we buy a “Beverly” and scratch the B off. 😉 This set comes with 48 labels that are both waterproof and dishwasher safe. They’ll definitely come in handy when the girls start preschool next year.
State The Clinton Pencil Case ($20) – This is a colorful, sturdy zippered pencil case made of 100% polyester canvas. It’s water-resistant and roomy enough to fit plenty of pencils, markers, glue sticks, and anything else your kiddo needs for school. With each sale of one of these cases, a backpack of supplies is donated to a child in need. Nice!
Snuppet Snack Puppet ($20 for 2) – TWO of these adorable snack bags slash puppets were included in the box. They’re made in the US using lead-free/BPA-free fabric and are machine washable. While we don’t exactly need any more snack bags, these are definitely unique.
Real Kids Fun Sun Essentials Sunglasses ($12.95) – These kid-sized shades are doctor recommended and feature 100% UBA/UVB protection. My girls are obsessed with their current Hello Kitty sunglasses, so we’ll have to keep these on hand as a spare (or for when they decide Hello Kitty isn’t cool anymore 😉 ).
Zoe Organics Breathe Balm ($14) – This balm is made with 100% organic ingredients including essential oils of eucalyptus, tea tree, lavender and cedar. Just apply it to your kiddo’s chest, back, neck, and/or soles of their feet to help relieve coughs and allow them to breathe easier.
Smarty Pants Gummy Vitamins (~$1?) – These seem to be a very popular vitamin in the world of subscription boxes, but since they contain gelatin I always pass them along to my husband. (I’m vegan, but we’re raising our girls vegetarian and gelatin is a no-no.)
Kloverbox totally curated a great selection of items for back to school. At first I thought it seemed a little lacking, but when you add up the retail prices for everything it comes to just under $90. — Almost double the cost of the box! Not bad at all!
This special edition box is now sold out, but you can still save 10% on their regular monthly box with coupon code “2LRB10“.
