Kreation Krate is a monthly subscription box for beginner to intermediate crafters. Each month you’ll receive all of the materials you need to make a fun DIY/craft project.
In addition to the main project, every Kreation Krate will also include a “Kind Craft”. This will be a bonus project that you make with the intention of passing it along to someone else as a random act of kindness. Such a neat idea!
Kreation Krate kindly sent me their debut box for review. Let’s have a look!
First look. Everything was packaged neatly and cushioned with paper squigglies and bubble wrap.
The info card/instruction sheet revealed this month’s craft — an Herb Starter Kit!
The instructions are straight-forward and include helpful photos, as well as a bonus craft to do with any remaining supplies.
Here’s everything that was included in the box! I’ll do a full run-down of it all below. For the project, you basically paint the pots with the chalk board paint, using any design you’d like. The washi tape is used to tape tissue paper to any areas of the pots that you don’t want painted. There’s a cloud stencil and white paint included for further decoration, as well as chalk for labeling. Once your pots are all fancied up, you just follow the planting instructions and you’re good to go!
Clay pots – You can’t have an herb garden without pots! 3 were included.
Rust-Oleum Chalk Board Paint – I’ve never seen a spray version of chalk board paint before. Neat. Just spray this on almost any surface to create a usable chalk board! I’m sure there’ll be plenty of it left over after the pots. π
Washi Tape – I think this is my very first roll of washi tape. It’s cute, but I still don’t understand the obsession. Maybe once I actually use it I’ll fall in love? We’ll see…
Sponge “brush”, DecoArt Crafter’s Acrylic Paint, Chalk, Cloud Stencil – Everything to decorate your lil’ herb pots!
Dirt Pellets & Herb Seeds – 3 dirt pellets were included. These are neat — you just soak them in a bowl of warm water for about 10 minutes until they fully expand. The herbs included were Calypso Cilantro, Genovese Basil, and Italian Oregano. Instructions for planting are detailed on the info sheet.
“Kind Craft” – This is the craft that you make to pass along to someone else as a “random act of kindness”. It’s a set of 3 seed balls that you wrap in burlap, tie with the enclosed twine, and loop an instruction card through. A simple craft with a great purpose. π
I’m really impressed with the first Kreation Krate. I love that the project was easy enough for a beginner, but could be equally enjoyed by a more advanced crafter (I would assume?). This is definitely something I’ll get crafty with once the weather warms up and I get the urge to do “spring-y” stuff.
Kreation Krate is $26/month, but you can save $5 on your first box with my promo code “ROSEBUD5“!Β You can also enter to WIN one via the Rafflecopter below! π
Good luck!!

I just moved into a new apartment and spent WEEKS making DIY projects for my room! I found a wall-sized tapestry of a map and glued pom poms onto every city I’ve been to around the world. I also made a magnetic makeup board by gluing strong magnets to the back of my foundation/eyeshadow/etc… it clears up so much counter space AND I’m never searching for anything. Best DIY ever!
We made birdhouses!
the last craft I did was for my Easter table…I made a bunny bum banner out of recycled security envelopes & recycled cereal boxes… ramen noodle birds nests and naturally dyed my eggs using turmeric, red cabbage, beets & spinach π (couldn’t figure out how to post a pic of them)
