I was recently contacted by the founder of a great company called Lalabu. She was wondering if I’d be interested in reviewing an innovative new product for moms — the Soothe Shirt.
The Soothe Shirt is a clever, simpler alternative to traditional baby-wearing, uh… contraptions. There are no straps, ties, or buckles — you simply wear it as you would any other shirt. So easy! It has a has a snug yet stretchable fit, with a pouch in the front that effortlessly holds your little one against your chest. There’s also a built-in nursing bra for breastfeeding.
The Soothe Shirt is designed to hold babies up to 15 pounds, but you can continue to use the shirt the entire time you breastfeed.
Of course, my girls are too big for baby-wearing now, so I couldn’t technically review this product, but believe me… If I had a chance to use it when they were smaller, I would have been all over it.
I had tried a couple different baby wraps and just found them to be way too frustrating/annoying to use on a regular basis. They took forever to wrap/tie/buckle and I always needed another pair of hands to help me put it on securely. I definitely don’t miss the days of standing in a parking lot for ten minutes, fumbling around with wraps and carriers while the girls sat in the car wondering when the hell mommy and daddy were going to take them out. I would have LOVED to have a Soothe Shirt back then. (Though I’m not sure my husband would have been too keen on wearing one.) 😉
I totally made it clear that I wouldn’t be able to review it by actually using it as intended, but they still offered to send me a Soothe Shirt so I could get a better idea of what it looks/feels like in person. I was very impressed with the quality of the material and the overall coverage/length of the shirt. Since it’s basically a tank top, you can easily layer it with your regular clothes. Love that!
To give you a better idea of how it’s worn, I’m sharing one of their videos that shows a typical “day in the life” of a Soothe Shirt.
The Soothe Shirt comes in 3 different colors — pure black, chocolate brown, and rich purple. Sizes are available in XS through XL.
This would make a great gift for soon-to-be mommas — and if you don’t know what size to get, no problem! They offer gift cards that can be delivered via email, as well as physical gift cards that you can present to the lucky momma in person.
Oh, and did I mention that Lalabu gives one dollar from every sale to women in Africa? And that one day out of each week their employees help volunteer at local women’s shelters? Yep. They’re pretty awesome. 😉
Lalabu has generously offered one of my readers a chance to win a Soothe Shirt of their own in the size and color of their choice! Just enter via the Rafflecopter below! Good luck!

I’m hoping to win one for myself. I bought a baby carrier at a local department store and was totally surprised when I brought it home and it took me about half an hour to figure out how to put it on and take it off. I know my son was looking at me funny and probably thinking, “Mommy, what are you doing?” Needless to say, I promptly returned it the next day.
Shirisha Prodduturi
I would like this for me.
Kimberly
I would LOVE to win one for myself and my little baby due in September!!

I am hoping to win one of these for myself. I’m rather cheap/stingy and never splurge on anything I want. For a woman who won’t pay more than $10 for a shirt, $60 is a little overboard for me. But I really want one! My second baby is due on Easter (two days after my birthday!) and winning one of these shirts would be awesome. Then, I could use it and decide if I want to spend the $60 on another one or two. It seems like it would be worth the money, but it takes a lot to get me to spend money!
Lesley Johnson
