I was super excited to receive December’s “Winter Wonderland” themed box, since I’m a big fan of all things winter. Especially snowmen. Love ’em. That said, this box did not disappoint. Snowman-related activities galore!
This was pasted to the inside of the box. Oh, and who do I see waving at me with twiggy little arms? Yep, a snowman. He tells me there’s a lot more of his kind buried beneath the tissue paper.
The tissue paper is festive and sparkly. It’s sealed with a Little Thinker Box logo sticker. Cute.
Snow Globe Sticker Scene – This is a fun little activity that involves making a 3D paper “snow globe” and decorating it with the included stickers to make a festive, snowy scene. The stickers are can be taken off and moved around until your little one is happy with their creation. And yep, there’s snowmen.
Snowman Memory Game – This is actually just a small deck of playing cards, but the info sheet suggests using it as a memory game. You play it like traditional memory, but instead of matching the pictures, you match the numbers or letters. So a “3 of candy canes” would match a “3 of stockings”, a “3 of gifts”, or a “3 of snowflakes”. Cute idea!
Worksheets: Letter Fun and Tracing – These are just basic activities to help your child improve his/her writing abilities. Focus this month is on the letter “W”, for Winter. Or Wendy. 😉
Polar Friends Puzzle – This is a small, 24-piece puzzle featuring cute, wintery characters. I just realized that there’s no actual photo of what the finished puzzle should look like, so this should prove to be quite the challenging task! Well, for a preschooler anyway.
Snowman Number Matching – A simple game to improve your child’s counting skills. Just have them count the snowmen on each “picture” card and match them to the corresponding “number” card.
Penguins Snow Day Coloring Book & Crayon Set – What kid doesn’t like to color? This is a fun winter themed coloring book about a penguin and his friends enjoying a day of sledding. The pictures are large and not too detailed, making it good for little ones to practice their coloring.
This was just a sampling of what was in this month’s Little Thinker Box! There were actually a total of thirteen different crafts/activities in all. (Some were just harder to photograph/properly depict without opening them up and putting the craft together, which I don’t want to do — I love having this stuff tucked away for when the girls are old enough to enjoy them!)
I was very impressed with Little Thinker Box, especially since it’s their very first month. The activities were all straight-forward, fit the theme perfectly, and required no additional materials. Woohoo!

We received a “December” Little Tinker Box as a Christmas gift! It was so impressive! I love the fact that both my 4 year old and my 9 year old enjoyed the activities inside… most important was that they did not realize it was a learning tool and thought it was just so fun…. Definitely will be interested to see what is next…
