April 2017 Loot Crate unboxing time!
If you still haven’t heard, Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box for fans of gamer/geek culture. Every month you’ll get a box packed with 6-8 items that can include toys, gear, figures, art, accessories, and more. They often (more often than not actually) send special limited edition Loot Crate exclusive items as well.
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Subscriptions are $21.99/month (price includes shipping), or less with longer plans. — You can save $3 on your first month with coupon code LOOTR3.
Okay, let’s see what’s inside the April 2017 Loot Crate!
The box!
A peek inside.
The theme for April’s box was “Investigate” and the mini mag/info booklet included photos and descriptions of each item. The info booklet used to also include interviews and various articles relating to the theme, but it looks like they’ve expanded on the item details and left the other features out.
Exclusive Stranger Things T-Shirt
I’m thinking Stranger Things fans are going to be all about this tee! I only half-watched it while my husband had it on, but I’m definitely familiar with Eleven and this design captures her perfectly. — They even included her bloody nose. Very cool. 🙂
Exclusive Marvel’s Jessica Jones Q-Fig
Jessica Jones was another show my husband watched, but one that I chose to tune out completely. The only thing I know about it was that it starred Rory’s quirky, big-eyed friend on Gilmore Girls (aka Krysten Ritter). 😉 Nevertheless, this is a cool figure and I’m happy to add it to my slowly expanding Q-Fig collection.
Exclusive Batman Coloring-Changing Mug
While I’m not really a Batman fan, I am still kind of excited about this mug. It’s one of those neat designs that changes when you add hot liquid, then goes back to its original look once it cools off. I received a similar one from a different subscription box a few months ago, but it sadly got destroyed when I put it in the dishwasher. The packaging on this one says that it’s both dishwasher and microwave safe, but I think I might hand wash it just in case.
Exclusive The X-Files Pencils (and Sharpener)
These are kinda silly, but still a fun little novelty item for X-Files fans. I think I sort of like the cheesy looking packaging more than the actual pencils. 😉
Exclusive April 2017 Loot Pin
April’s exclusive pin allowed subscribers to unlock free digital copies of The X-Files (2016) #1 and The X-Files: Origins #1 from IDW Publishing.
I definitely enjoyed April’s “Investigate” Loot Crate a lot more than the previous few month’s boxes/themes. The tee design was really cool and I’m excited to use another color-changing mug (even if it is Batman). 😉 — If you’d like to sign up for Loot Crate, you can save $3 on any subscription plan with coupon code “LOOTR3“!
