December 2016 Loot Crate unboxing time!
If you still haven’t heard, Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box for fans of gamer/geek culture. Every month you’ll get a box packed with 6-8 items that can include toys, gear, figures, art, accessories, and more. They often (more often than not actually) send special limited edition Loot Crate exclusive items as well.
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Subscriptions are $19.37/month (price includes shipping), or less with longer plans. — You can save $3 on your first month with coupon code LOOTR3.
Okay, let’s see what’s inside the December 2016 Loot Crate!
The signature black Loot Crate box.
A peek inside!
The theme for December’s box was “Revolution” and the mini mag/info booklet featured a short history of hacking, the top Loot of 2016, behind the scenes of USA’s “Colony”, and more.
Exclusive Mr. Robot fsociety T-Shirt – When I first saw the spoilers for December’s box, I knew my husband would be all about this shirt. He’s a fan of Mr. Robot and prefers black/darker colored geek shirts, so this is a win/win. I can’t really get into the show myself, but I did like the fact that ALF made an appearance in one of the episodes. 😉
Figure Fantasy: The Pop Culture Photography of Daniel Picard (Hardcover Looter Edition) – I’m usually not too excited when geek boxes include a book, but this one’s actually kinda cool. It features photographs of fan-favorite figures from Sideshow Collectibles in scenarios “ranging from the epic to the everyday”. I think my favorite is the photo above, showing the Joker shopping for a Batman costume at Walmart. 😉 The book also features a foreword by Simon Pegg and an afterword by Kevin Smith.
Exclusive Assassin’s Creed Aguilar Funko Pop! Figure – Ooh! A Loot Crate exclusive Funko Pop figure! This features Aguilar in his crouching stance and I was happy to see that my box wasn’t as damaged as others I’ve seen. I guess Loot Crate kinda dropped the ball when it came to making sure the items were packed securely this month. Not an issue to those who display them unboxed, and it’s a cool figure either way.
Exclusive Firefly Independents Patch – Another Loot Crate exclusive, this patch was created using the original art files made by Firefly graphic designer Dylan Hay-Chapman.
Exclusive December 2016 Loot Pin – December’s pin — featuring the emblem of the Assassin Brotherhood — allowed subscribers to unlock a digital excerpt from the new Assassin’s Creed: Heresy novel.
Another Loot Crate loaded with exclusives! My favorites this month were the Mr. Robot shirt (well, for my husband), the exclusive Funko figure, and the Figure Fantasy book. — If you’d like to sign up for Loot Crate, you can save $3 on any subscription plan with coupon code “LOOTR3“!
