Loot Crate unboxing time! June’s theme is “Cyber” and features a selection of tech-themed items from Battlestar Galactica, Terminator Genisys, Borderlands, and more.
If you’re new here, Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box for fans of gamer/geek culture. Every month you’ll get a box packed with 6-8 items that can include toys, gear, snacks, hardware, art, accessories, and more! (They’ve even been sending limited edition Loot Crate exclusive items!) Boxes are $19.37/month (price includes shipping), or less with longer subscriptions.
Okay, on with the June Loot Crate unboxing!
June’s mini mag/info booklet featured an interview with the creator of Mr. Robot, Homeworld-themed activity pages, a Q&A with Zachary Levi, and more.
Terminator Genisys Endo Skull Replica from Chronicle Collectibles – A Loot Crate exclusive 1/2 scale model cyborg skull. The detail on this thing is pretty impressive and there’s even a “behind-the-scenes” look at how they were manufactured inside this month’s mini mag. The eyes and teeth are actually hand-painted. Neat.
Prime T-Shirt from djkopet designs – Loot Crate has been sending lots of t-shirts lately. This one features a cool mash-up of Optimus Prime and Tron. My husband approves. 🙂
Borderlands Zer0 Game Mat – I thought this was just an overly large mouse pad, but according to the info card it’s a “gaming mat”. Is that really a thing, or just a nerdier way of saying “big ol’ mouse pad”?
Terminator Genisys Brain Chip Keychain from Chronicle Collectibles – At first glance, I thought this was a chocolate bar. Whoops. It’s actually a brain chip belonging to a T-1000 Terminator cyborg. My bad.
Battlestar Galactica Cylon Target Poster Set from Quantum Mechanix – A set of two replica target practice posters as seen in the show. The info booklet suggests using your favorite Nerf gun to hone your skills.
Glow-in-the-Dark Circuit Gadget Pouch – A quirky zippered pouch with a circuitboard pattern that glows in the dark. A handy carabiner clip makes it easy to take on the go. Hold your pens, pencils, styluses, makeup, weed…
Nerd HQ Sticker Sheet from The Nerd Machine – This seems like more of a promotional thing rather than an actual item, but whatever. Nerdy stickers.
Future Replicant Corporate Logo Patch from A-B Emblem – I guess this is a Blade Runner thing, but I’ve never seen the movie, so… Yeah. Also, there’s this month’s Loot Crate pin.
So many exclusives this month! Honestly, the theme really wasn’t my thing. My husband, on the other hand, was all about it. He loves the t-shirt and was happy to see Terminator featured. A few of the things seemed very “filler” to me, but overall, it was a decent offering.
