March 2017 Loot Crate unboxing time!
If you still haven’t heard, Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box for fans of gamer/geek culture. Every month you’ll get a box packed with 6-8 items that can include toys, gear, figures, art, accessories, and more. They often (more often than not actually) send special limited edition Loot Crate exclusive items as well.
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Subscriptions are $21.99/month (price includes shipping), or less with longer plans. — You can save $3 on your first month with coupon code LOOTR3.
Okay, let’s see what’s inside the March 2017 Loot Crate!
The familiar black Loot Crate box.
A peek inside!
The theme for March’s box was “Primal” and the mini mag/info booklet included lots of info on each product, as well as available variants that you can purchase in the Loot Crate Vault (shop). Usually there are interviews and various articles relating to the theme, but it looks like they just expanded on the item details this month and left the other features out. Weird.
I should probably mention that the March box can be turned into a T-Rex. I really don’t have the patience (or time) for such things, but you can get an idea of what it’s supposed to look like in the photo above. I believe it also has a tail. 😉
Exclusive Overwatch Winston Primal Rage T-Shirt
I had absolutely no clue what this shirt was all about until reading the mini mag’s description. I learned that the design is based on “Winston’s ‘Primal Rage’ Spray” (graffiti tag) from Overwatch. Oh, and that Winston is a “hyper-intelligent ape” whose special ability is basically to go HAM on his enemies. So now I know.
Exclusive 100% Die Case Metal X-Men Logan Wolverine Figure
This Loot Crate exclusive Wolverine figure is made of 100% die cast metal. Very cool! Its colors and details are beautifully done, and given the material it’s got some nice weight to it. Loot Crate sent 3 different variants of the piece. — Subscribers could have received plain ol’ Logan (this one), Old Man Logan, or Raw Adamantium Logan.
Loot Crate Edition Jurassic World Warning Sign
While this is definitely a “geeky” item, I honestly don’t see anyone aside from hardcore Jurassic Park/World fans or 8 year old boys actually displaying this sign anywhere within view. Just sayin’. 😉 If you happen to fall into one of those 2 categories, they did include some zip ties to help with installation.
Exclusive Predator Bottle Opener
Another item that Loot Crate sent variants of this month… Subscribers could have received either Gort from Predator 2 (shown above) or the Jungle Hunter from the original Predator. Both are solid metal bottle openers with hallowed out backs.
Exclusive March 2017 Loot Pin
March’s exclusive pin allowed subscribers to unlock free digital copies of Savage #1 and #2 from Valiant in HD and Guided View on your device.
Welp, another genre I wasn’t too psyched about, but a fairly solid Loot Crate box nonetheless. Although I think this is the first time in many months that my husband wasn’t into the subject/design of the t-shirt. Eh, can’t win ’em all. I did think the die cast metal figure was cool. 🙂 — If you’d like to sign up for Loot Crate, you can save $3 on any subscription plan with coupon code “LOOTR3“!
