FIGHT! — November’s Loot Crate is dedicated to the good ol’ sport of “battle”. Thanks to the crazy weather, I got my box a lot later than usual. Ah yes, the mighty snow storm was a battle of which my trusty mailman just could not win. Zing!
If you’re not aware, Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box for fans of gamer/geek culture. Every month you’ll get a box packed with 6-8 items that can include toys, gear, snacks, hardware, art, accessories, and more! (They’ve even been sending limited edition Loot Crate exclusive items!) Boxes are $19.37/month (price includes shipping), or less with longer subscriptions.
I apologize in advance for the crummy quality of the photos in this post. I’m having some lighting… issues.
Let the battle begin!
The box was a little different this month. It actually had instructions on how to put it together in order to create a play scene for little cutout fighters included in the mini mag. Cute idea, but this momma of cuckoo bananas twin toddlers ain’t got time for that. 😉
First look at the goods. Definitely got the feeling that I was being watched.
Pirate vs. Ninja Shirt by Zen Monkey Studios – This (Loot Crate exclusive) shirt is done in the same style as the Zelda one from May’s Crate. It’s an homage to the age-old(?!) debate of who would win in a battle — pirates or ninjas. Frankly, I don’t care which side would win. It’s like a battle between Jennifer Garner and Anne Hathaway — I’d be happy if both suffered defeat. I’m just not a fan of pirates, ninjas, or super skinny horse-faced actresses. (Did I say that?)
Assassin’s Creed IV Unity Coin with Velvet Pouch – Another Loot Crate exclusive. My husband used to play Assassin’s Creed all the damn time. All I remember about it, from the occasional glances up at the screen, was a dude running around on rooftops. And doing mean things to a chicken. Or a pig. I dunno. I didn’t pay much attention. Anyway, this coin has the seal of the Assassins on one side, and a space to engrave your name on the other (shown above).
Mega Man Mini Helmet by CAPCOM – Why yes, it’s another Loot Crate exclusive item. This is a replica of Mega Man’s signature helmet. This dude’s been in over 130 different games in the past 27 years. He’s one busy little, er, mega man.
Street Fighter Headband – A replica headband of Street Fighter’s Ryu character. Tie this around your head and get ready for battle. Or Halloween? Again, a Loot Crate exclusive item.
HALO Drop Ship Mini Figure – I think this is the only non-exclusive item in the box. It’s a 19-piece figure that comes in his own drop ship grenade, plus a sidearm. I have no idea what that means, but I trust the description in the mini mag. Sorry, HALO fans.
Mini mag & game downloads. There was a Loot Crate button too, but it got away from me and refused to be photographed. Damn button.
Like last month, I didn’t do a cost breakdown on things since all but one were Loot Crate exclusive items. I think it’s fair to assume that it’s well worth the piddly $19.37 (shipped!) subscription price.

The only game out of those that Mega Man has been in that matters is the 2nd one for the NES. Best musics, best bots.
Also, Ryu told me he wants his headband back… HAIIII DOOOO EH KEN!
