Once again, I got two different Citrus Lane boxes this month. My mom signed up when they offered new members their first box for free and (lucky for me) forgot to cancel after she received it… So she ended up getting one this month too. Woo!
Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription for babies/kids aged newborn-5. It’s $29/month (cheaper with longer subs) and includes a nice assortment of toys, books, snacks, toiletries, etc. Sometimes they even include a gift for mom.
This month’s box included products to “help your baby learn and play”, along with a few practical/functional items.
Our box is geared towards a 2 year old girl (I think?) and here’s what was inside…
Petit Collage Beginner Puzzle “Farm Babies” – Awww! How cute are those baby animals? Adorable! This is a great puzzle set that grows with your child. It has 4 different puzzles: A 3-piece chicken (ew — I don’t like that that sounded like a “meal”), a 4-piece cow, 5-piece sheep, and 6-piece piggy. They’re made with 80% recycled materials and printed with vegetable-based inks. (Amazon Price: $14.00)
Medi Buddy First Aid Kit to Go by Me4Kidz – We don’t really have any first aid kits like this, so this was a great item to receive. It’s contains 40 first aid items including gauze, bandaids, antiseptic wipes, and more. Everything tucks neatly inside the little reusable travel case and is the perfect size for a diaper bag. Oh, and with every kit sold, a portion of the money goes to help the disabled community. Nice! (Amazon Price: $5.99)
Eco-Kids Natural Plant Dye Modeling Dough – This is a neat modeling dough/clay that’s made from non-toxic, all natural ingredients. It contains simple elements like fruit & veggie extracts, coconut oil, flour, etc. Unlike traditional modeling dough (*cough*Play-Doh*cough*), this stuff won’t dry out. If it does lose some moisture, just add a little olive oil and it’s good as new. The containers themselves are even made of cornstarch and are 100% compostable. (Amazon Price: roughly $6.86 for 2)
Clean Well All-Natural Hand Sanitizing Wipes – These wipes are made with all natural cleaning ingredients. Normally that would be awesome, but in this case, it kinda stinks. Literally. One of the ingredients is thyme oil, which has a very, very strong odor. These were included in boxes last year and a LOT of people complained about the scent… I’m actually a bit surprised that they sent them out again. That said, while I won’t be too quick to wipe the girls’ faces with these stinky things, I’ll try to find another use for ’em (preferably outside). 😉 (Amazon Price: $6.65)
Aside from the wipes issue, I thought this was a pretty decent Citrus Lane box. I’d say I’m just as happy with this one as I was with my “regular” box for this month. All totaled, the items in this box come to $33.50, which is a few dollars less than my other box, but still more than the cost of the subscription. So it’s a win.
If you’d like to try Citrus Lane for yourself, you can score your first box forjust $9.00 shipped (save $20!) when you click here and use the promo code “TAKE20OFF“! That’s a seriously great deal!
Disclosure: I purchased this box on my own. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Amazon prices subject to change. Post contains affiliate/referral links.

Thanks for the heads up on the wipes. I haven’t opened mine yet so I didn’t know about the bad scent. Why would they include something with a bad scent. Oh well I really liked this months box. Wish I hadn’t bought six months in advance so I could take advantage of the coupon code.

Yeah, it’s just a really weird smell… And strong. I think they still included it because it’s just what thyme(?) naturally smells like. I’m sure if it was some sorta chemical smell or something they wouldn’t have sent it again. Hopefully. Some people actually like it though… maybe you’ll be one of them. 😉

I got the same exact box! http://wp.me/p4lGPl-62 I put up pictures. I was bummed with the wipes as well, mostly because I felt like it was a low value item, and just pretty lame.
