Ecocentric Mom recently switched from a monthly box to an every-other-month box. This is the second box I’ve received on their new “schedule”. I’ve been pretty happy with the change, as the boxes are still full of great stuff and now I have more time to use them between shipments.
As always, I received the “Mom & Baby” box. The other two options available are a “Mom-to-Be Box” and just a plain ol’ “Mom” box. Subscriptions are $24/every-other-month, but they often have discount codes available that are usually good for the life of your sub. (I was able to score a discounted subscription not too long ago and now my boxes are only $18/month. Not bad!)
Let’s see what was inside this month!
As always, everything was neatly tucked inside a layer of pretty pink tissue paper and sealed with a heart.
Duck & Goose – Here Comes the Easter Bunny! Board Book – I’ve never gotten a book in an Ecocentric Mom box, so this was a nice surprise. It’s a cute Easter themed board book with bright and colorful illustrations. Perfect for a little one’s Easter basket. I love that they included this and hope they do it more! Yay, books!
Hearts Desire All Natural Wooden Baby Rattle – This is a nice, handmade wooden rattle/teether. It’s great for sensory stimulation, as well as cutting teeth. My girls are a little young for this, but it’s cute. (Actually, come to think of it, I think these boxes are aimed at children up to 18 months… Uh oh!)
2 Degrees Bar in Cherry Almond – A “just for mom” item, this bar is all natural, gluten-free, and vegan. I’ve had these before in other flavors and they’re pretty good. Plus, for every bar that’s purchased, 2 Degrees donates a meal to a child in need. Cool.
Ever Bamboo Bin Deodorizer & Dehumidifier – We haven’t tried this yet, but I can’t wait to see how effective it is. It’s an all natural deodorizer made with bamboo charcoal that you stick inside your diaper pail. It’s supposed to naturally eliminate the odor and can last up to a whole year! You just have to take it out once every 1-2 months and lay it in the sun for 2-3 hours on each side to “recharge it”, then it’s good to go! Neat!
Cloth Wipes by Family Cloth Wipes – How cute are these?? They’re super soft cotton flannel wipes that can be used for just about anything. They’re 2-ply so they’ll hold up for a long time. I love the fun print! I’m thinking we’ll probably use them for bathtime. So cute!
BabyCeuticals Calendula & Shea Diaper Creme – Chemical free, gluten-free, all natural diaper cream made with a blend of butters, herbs, and anti-bacterial/anti-fungal oils. Helps soothe and cool baby’s irritated skin.
Organic GoodNight Balm by A Place of Healing – This is a natural balm that helps to promote a restful night of sleep. You just dab a bit under your nose, on your temples, or the bottoms of your feet and let it do its’ thing. Safe for all ages.
House Blend Organics Lavender Body Wash for Baby – A naturally calming body wash made with organic lavender essential oils. At first I thought this was another “mom” product because it says to “avoid contact with eyes”, but it sounds like it’s for everyone. The description on their site does mention using it on toddlers, so I’m not sure that I would feel safe using it on anyone younger than toddler-aged. It might be best to consider it a “mom” gift just to be safe. 😉
Bach Original Flower Remedies Red Chestnut Essence – Okay, now this one is definitely “just for mom”. I’ve seen these in natural food stores, but never thought to try them. They’re homeopathic remedies to help manage the stresses of everyday life. Red Chestnut is supposed to “love without anxiety or fear for the well-being of your loved ones”. I’m not even sure what that’s supposed to mean, but the instructions say that it’s for “relief of naturally occurring nervous tension”. You need to take 4 drops in water, a minimum of 4 times a day.
Amara Dried Baby Food (Apple) – 3 packets of organic, freeze dried apples to be mixed with water or breast milk. I’ve given these type of packets to the girls before and they weren’t really fans. I’ll probably use these for smoothies.
Anna Naturals Nursing Mama Tea – This is a nursing tea that helps breastfeeding mothers increase their milk supply. It’s made with organic fenugreek seed, organic rooibos, hibiscus, cherry and orange extracts.
I was VERY happy with this month’s Ecocentric Mom box. There were a lot of products that were totally new to me and aside from the granola bar, I haven’t seen any of these items in any of my previous boxes. (No Little Pim! Woo!) Love it! Oh, and the value is totally there too. I didn’t add everything up, but the retail price of the essence oil is almost enough to cover the cost of the box on its own! Yay!
Disclosure: I purchased this box on my own. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate/referral links.
