Let’s see what’s in the Spring 2017 Mary’s Secret Ingredients box!
The box!
As always, the info booklet was neatly tucked into a pocket created with tissue paper and sealed with a sticker.
A peek inside!
A “Little Book of Ingredients” pamphlet listed all of the items, as well as detailed information about each one.
Soom Chocolate Sesame Spread
Ooh! I’m really looking forward to trying this spread. It’s made with just 3 simple ingredients — tahini, powdered pure cane sugar, and cocoa powder. Not only does it have half the sugar as conventional chocolate spreads, but it’s also vegan, peanut free, dairy free and gluten free. Enjoy it as a spread, a flavorful dessert ingredient, or eaten straight from the jar.
Joseph Joseph SmartBar
I’ve never seen a product like this before… It’s a stainless steel “soap bar” that helps remove odor from fingers and hands by attracting the sulphur molecules deposited by foods such as garlic and onions. It can also be filled with liquid soap which is released by pressing the button in the center of the bar so you can remove the odor and cleanse in one easy step. Plus, it comes with its own silicone draining mat too!
Get Dressed Sesame Sensation Dressing
A spicy tahini dressing that can also double as a marinade to infuse flavor into your favorite dishes. The blend is all natural, vegan, gluten free, kosher, and sugar free. To be honest, the consistency looked a little strange and as much as I shook the bottle, the ingredients stayed separated. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be/look like that or if I got a bad batch (their website says that they’re “still working on perfecting their dressing”). Hmm…
Catskill Provisions Whiskey Honey Truffles
This little box holds 4 handcrafted truffles made with bittersweet chocolate, local butter & cream, vanilla, salt, and NY honey whiskey. I can’t try them myself since they’re obviously not vegan friendly, but they’re described as having rich notes of toffee, vanilla and smoky spice.
Wilder Condiments Honey Jalapeño Mustard
A spicy, yet sweet mustard made with a blend of yellow mustard powder, apple cider vinegar, honey, garlic, jalapeño peppers, and other all natural ingredients. Perfect for sandwiches, hot dogs, and more.
I enjoyed the unique theme — “Sesame & Honey” — of the Spring 2017 Mary’s Secret Ingredients box. My favorite items this quarter were the Soom chocolate sesame spread, SmartBar stainless steel soap, and the sweet & spicy mustard. 🙂 — Remember, for a limited time you can save 20% on your first box with coupon code “TRYMSI“!
