Mary’s Secret Ingredients is a culinary surprise box that helps you “put some LOVE in your cooking!”.
Mary is the writer behind the food blog “Love — The Secret Ingredient“, where she shares recipes, cooking tips, and more. She launched Mary’s Secret Ingredients to introduce others to some of her favorite artisanal and gourmet goodies. She also shares recipes on her blog which will incorporate the ingredients in the boxes.
New boxes are released every season with a limited number available. 10% of their yearly profits are donated to Feed the Children, an organization that provides food, water, health care, and education to children in need.
Boxes are $25.95/season and are purchased with a one-time charge (no recurring subscription). (You can save 25% on your first box with coupon code “WELCOME“!)
Let’s see what’s in the Winter 2015 Mary’s Secret Ingredients box!
As with their Fall box, everything was shipped in a big white box that asked to be handled “with loving care”.
A look inside. The info cards were neatly tucked into a pocket created with tissue paper and sealed with a sticker.
Treats!
A “Little Book of Ingredients” pamphlet listed all of the items, as well as detailed information about each one.
Michel et Augustin Cookie Squares – These popular French cookies are made with simple, high quality ingredients that you’d find in your own kitchen. They feature a shortbread base with a chocolate bar like topping. The box included two flavors: Dark Chocolate with sea salt and Milk Chocolate & Caramel with sea salt.
Just Cook Herbed Coffee Rub – An all natural coffee rub made in San Francisco, this is ideal for marinating pork, beef, and lamb. The blend consists of brown sugar, coffee, kosher salt, pepper, oregano, cumin, chipotle, thyme, sage, and molasses. My mother-in-law loves trying new recipes, so this will be passed along to her to enjoy.
Laiki Rice Crackers – These 100% natural rice crackers are made with just 3 ingredients — rice, oil, and salt. Each package has just 100 calories and while they’re not the most exciting snack, they are pretty filling, which is always a good thing.
Loacker Rose of the Dolomites in Dark and White Chocolate – Delectable Alpine rose shaped chocolates made with Italian hazelnuts, bourbon vanilla pods, pure chocolate, high quality milk, and fresh mountain water. Both dark and white chocolate were included, each featuring a creamy center with crunchy hazelnut pieces. Yum!
Nutrawbar Pistachio Organic Superfood Bar – A raw superfood bar made with just 5 organic ingredients — dates, pistachios, almonds, extra-virgin coconut oil, and green cardamom. It’s 100% plant-based, vegan, gluten-free, and made with non-GMO ingredients.
RawSpiceBar Winter Herb Blend – A packet of wintery herbs to add a burst of flavor to pot pies, meats, tofu, and veggies. I’m thinking I’ll try this out when I cook my next Tofurky feast. 🙂
The Winter 2015 Mary’s Secret Ingredients box was very sweets-heavy, which was totally fine with me. (Of course, I would have enjoyed it more if there were vegan-friendly sweets too! 😉 ) I like that they included treats that you wouldn’t necessarily find in your local grocery store. Always a plus.

Hi. I won your last Mary’s secret ingredient giveaway but never got my box? Is it on the way? Sorry, I’m just not sure how this works. I did reply to the email within a couple hours of receiving it. Thank you (:
