Ipsy is a beauty subscription that sends subscribers a monthly “Glam Bag” full of cosmetics and beauty accessories. This is my second month with them (you can see April’s review here).
When you sign up, you take a “beauty quiz” to determine your likes/dislikes, makeup preferences, etc. This helps Ipsy learn which products to send in your Glam Bag. Each bag will contain 4-6 full sized and deluxe sample sized products from top cosmetics brands.
Ipsy is only $10/month and offers a nice rewards program that gives you points for reviewing your products and referring friends to join. Points can be redeemed for “bonus items” in your next bag. Awesome!
Ipsy sends a lot of different variations each month, so you’ll see that other subscribers got totally different products than you did. So what did *I* get? Read on!
The Bag! – This month’s bag is so cute! I love that it’s canvas. I think this is the first canvas Ipsy bag I’ve ever seen. Love it!
Pur-lisse Pur-Moist Hydra-Balance Moisturizer – This is a “delicate hydrating moisturizer” that goes on like a gel and hydrates a cream. It has anti-aging properties and is safe for dry/sensitive skin. I have a regular moisturizer that I’ve been using for years, but I guess it couldn’t hurt to switch it up. (Amazon Price: roughly $9.99 for this .5 oz size)
Pacifica Mineral Eyeshadow Duo 1: Celestial & Opal – I love that this eyeshadow is totally vegan and cruelty free… I DON’T love that it was completely pulverized when I opened my bag. 🙁 It’s supposed to be 2 separate colors, but it just looks like one big single-colored mess. Boo. That said, I’ll still try to get some use out of it. (It had me at “vegan”.) (Retail Price: No idea, since this is an Ipsy exclusive. I’ll just say $7.00?)
Avene Thermal Spring Water – I’ve never heard of this before. — It’s a spring water mist that you spray on your skin to help soothe inflammation, redness, itching, etc. It can even be used to help relieve diaper rash! The only ingredient is thermal spring water, so it’s totally safe for kiddos. I’m definitely curious to see how it works. (Amazon Price: $2.90 for this travel size)
Hey Honey Take it Off Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask – This is a honey-infused peel-off mask that helps you achieve a smooth, clear complexion. You spread it over your face, wait 15-20 minutes, and peel it off. Safe for all skin types. (Amazon Price: Roughly $7.00 for this travel size)
Jersey Shore Sun Sans Tan Anti-Aging Sunscreen – This is a mineral sunscreen made with organic, non-GMO ingredients. It has anti-aging properties, along with an SPF of 35. It’s paraben/fragrance-free and reef-friendly. Cool! (Amazon Price: Roughly $7.29 for this .5 oz size)
The total value of all the products in my May Ipsy bag comes to $34.18 (not including the bag). Pretty good for just $10/month!
I gotta say, I wasn’t overly thrilled with the products, but the bag is super cute, the lotions will get used, and I’m curious to try the water mist on my girls’ diaper rash. I wish the shadow wasn’t “broken”, but what can ya do. Still a great deal for just $10 shipped! 😉
Disclosure: I purchased this bag on my own. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Amazon prices subject to change at anytime. Post may contain affiliate/referral links.

Just send Ipsy an email. They should send you a new eyeshadow! I’ve never had anything come damaged from them, but I have from probably 5 other subscriptions boxes & customer service always sent a replacement right out.

Will do! 🙂

Ipsy has the best customer service ever! Email them and send that pic of the eye shadow attached to the email and they will replace it! They are really awesome and if u send a pic of the damaged item they will replace it…
May was my sixth Ipsy bag….like u, I wasnt thrilled with it….I was much more excited about April….. But I’ll still use all the items. Our bags were kinda different. I got the thermal water that you did but got the other shade of eyeshadow (which sad to say I hate as I don’t do purple eyeshadow) and the other sunscreen….and two other items…. Unfortunately one of the other items I got was the hair oil, which I was excited to try, BUT it leaked and made a giant mess. It ruined the actual bag with oil stains….sad cause I really like this actual bag, and made a giant mess…. I’m still waiting to hear from Ipsy about my disaster bag…..but write them and I’m sure they will replace that eyeshadow for you!

I’ll definitely email them a pic! This is only my second month, so I wasn’t sure how good their customer service would be about that kinda stuff. Good to know!
Yeah, I think the bag itself was my favorite part this month. Love that it’s canvas. 🙂 Hopefully they’ll replace yours!
