Orange Glad is a monthly subscription box that features gourmet desserts. Cookies, brownies, cakes, candies — if you’ve got a taste for sweets, this is totally a box for you!
Orange Glad carefully selects the yummiest treats from sweets shops and bakeries all over the country. Each dessert box will contain five deluxe gourmet treats delivered fresh to your door. The info card indicates when you should eat each treat in order to ensure maximum freshness.
I was recently sent May’s Sweet Box for review, and while I didn’t expect any of the items to be vegan (they’re not), I was still excited to see what was inside. (Plus I love giving my mom all the goodies that I can’t eat!) Okay, let’s see what they sent!
First look: Everything was tucked inside of (appropriately colored) orange tissue paper sealed and with a blue sticker.
The info card lists all of the treats, along with the bakeries they’ve come from.
The back of the card lists the ingredients for every item. This definitely made it super easy for me to see if anything was vegan. It was nice to read everything in one place, rather than having to look at each individual label.
Gluten-Free Ultimate Brownie from Fine Stonehenge Baking Co. – Who doesn’t like brownies? This guy is gluten-free and made with rice flour & dark chocolate. It’s super thick and looks mega soft & fudge-y. Mmm.
S’more Cookie & Peanut Butter Cup Cookie by Baking Betty’s – I’m not sure why one cookie is significantly larger than the other, but what can ya do. The one on the left is an award-winning S’more cookie made with graham crackers, chocolate chips, and three (no more, no less! three!) marshmallows. The smaller cookie is Peanut Butter Cup and sounds amazing — it’s full of peanut butter, chocolate chips, and topped with peanut butter cups. Yum-o! (Side note: I noticed that this shop also sells vegan/gluten-free chocolate chip cookies! Oooh!)
Cranberry Orange Welsh Cakes – I’m part Welsh, so I kinda wish I could taste these just for that fact alone. (Damn you eggs & dairy — I wanna represent!) These are like a cross between a cookie, a scone, and a pancake. Sounds good to me! The package suggests serving them warm. Good call, package.
Cici’s Handmade Italian Butterhorns – I thought these were cream-filled cannoli-type things until I read the ingredients. (I guess I’m kinda clueless about dessert-y things?) They’re actually “Italian cookies made from a light, buttery dough and filled with cinnamon, sugar, and walnuts”. I bet they would be really good warmed up and paired with coffee or tea. Yum.
Although I wasn’t able to personally consume any of the items ( 🙁 ), I’m still impressed by the curation of the box. It was a nice selection of different treats that any sweet-lover would be more than happy to receive. My mom will be positively giddy when I bring this box o’ goodies over to her place tomorrow. 😉
Orange Glad is $15/month plus shipping (less with longer subscriptions), but you can get your first box for just $10 when you click here and use the code “ORANGE10” at checkout. Not sure how long that code’s good for, so when it expires, you can get 5% off your first box when you click here and use the code “ROSEBUDS5“. Oh, and you can also order a box with double the treats for just $12 more!
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate links.
