Tandem Lane is a care package subscription service that’s customized for elderly loved ones — grandparents, older parents, and anyone else who could use a fun surprise in the mail.
Every month, Tandem Lane chooses a different theme to keep things fun. Past themes have included “Winter Comforts”, “Spring Beginnings”, and “Discovering France”. Contents will include snacks, games and activies, personal/comfort items, and other useful gifts. You also have the option of including a personal note, as well as photos which you simply upload to their site for Tandem Lane to print out and include in the box. Neat!
I was recently sent May’s box for review purposes. Let’s take a look!
The box itself was super cute! — So bright and cheerful!
First look! This month’s theme is “A Trip to the Farmer’s Market”.
The back of the card listed all of the items included in the box.
Second look! Gotta love a full box with no packing “squigglies”. 😉
Book Sox “Make a Difference” Tote Bag – This is a sturdy canvas tote that’s perfect to carry your farmer’s market goodies! It’s reusable, washable, and biodegradable — 100% eco-friendly.
Herb-Themed Notepad with Magnetic Back – This is a cute little notepad with frolicking butterflies at the top of the page, and a collection of herbs at the bottom. It has 50 lined pages with an optional magnet for hanging on your fridge.
Pocket Posh Large Print Word Roundup Puzzle Book – I thought this was a journal at first and was surprised to find out that it’s actually a word puzzle book. I had no idea they made such pretty ones! It has large, 16-point text and includes a total of 100 puzzles. Unlike a traditional “word search”, this one gives you clues to the words in the puzzle and it’s up to the you to solve/find them. Example: Find 3 citrus fruits, find 6 US states, etc. I like that they actually make you think. Definitely great for seniors!
Kolo “Live, Laugh, Love” Photo Brag Book – Every month, you’re given the option of sending a photo to your loved one. This little brag book is the perfect place to store them all. It’s 4 1/4″x6″ and holds up to 24 4×6 photos. There’s a little slit on the inside cover, so I’m guessing you can replace the quote on the front with a photo of your choice.
Mamma Chia Chia Squeeze Vitality Snack in Green Magic – I’ve gotten these in other subscription boxes and I’m still unsure how I feel about them. On one hand, they’re made with chia seeds, which are super duper good for you and contain a ton of omega-3’s. On the other hand, the texture is… weird. It reminds me of what a mouthful of fish eggs would feel like. The taste is totally fine… But man, such a bizarre texture to get used to.
Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Fruit & Oat Harvest in Country Strawberry – This bar is made with real fruit and whole grains. It’s corn syrup free and has 4 grams of protein & 5 grams of fiber per serving. Makes for a convenient, healthy mid-day snack.
Also included was a postcard to rate each product in this month’s box. They even give you a self-addressed stamped envelope to encourage you to share your thoughts. I love that. — Clearly they want their customers to be happy!
I’m sure just about anyone would enjoy receiving a care package like this from Tandem Lane! The items were all useful and the optional personalized note and photos give it a special touch. Boxes are $25/month and less with 3- and 6-month subscriptions.
