Let’s see what’s in the June 2018 My Fairy Tale Box PLUS!
Everything was shipped in a full-color box with seasonal/holiday images printed along the edges.
A peek inside!
An envelope with my girls’ names on it held a personalized letter from Father Time! This “official correspondence” described some of the items included in June’s box, as well as some lesser known holidays celebrated this month — like National Build It Day (June 7th), Mermaid Day (June 16th), and National Seashell Day (June 21st).
Additional lesser known national holidays were also printed on calendars for both June & July.
For parents, a separate info sheet listed every single item included in this month’s box. There was also a “Skills Assessment Checklist” that listed all of the different skills your child will be working on with each of the items provided.
There was also a sheet of weekly science experiments that grown-ups and children can work on together using simple items you can find around the house.
Picasso Tiles Educational Constructible Front Loader Tractor
When I first pulled this out of the box, I was a little skeptical of whether my girls would take any interest in it. To my surprise, they LOVED this lil’ tractor! It features removable plastic screws that allow you to take some of the pieces apart using the included toy screwdriver & 3 interchangeable heads. Both girls took turns taking it apart and putting it back together right away, and again a few more times later that day. It’s still sitting at the table where they like to play, so it’s clearly a winner!
“My Tools” Play Tool Belt
I probably should have mentioned it sooner, but June is National Construction Month. — That’s why so many of the items in this box are construction/tool-related, like the bright yellow tool belt above.
Kid Fun 12-Piece Tool Set
What good is a tool belt without anything to put inside? — Your child can fill it right up using this 12-piece set of safety tested/phthalate compliant tools. It includes a ball-peen hammer, pliers, screws, a wrench, nuts, bolts, and more.
Blank Cards & Envelopes
Five colored cards were included for your child to decorate and give to friends & loved ones. They’re blank (white) inside for your child to write their own personalized message and come with matching envelopes. We love having these on hand for birthdays, holidays, Father’s Day, etc. 🙂
Watercolor Paints
A set of 8 watercolor paints was included to use with the cards above or any other project your child decides to use them on.
Perfect Timing Game
I love that My Fairy Tale Box includes great games that the whole family can play together and that are often educational too! The goal of this game is to get the clock to the right place in time. Players work together to move the hands of the clock and get it to read the time on the 12 clock cards. If the time is passed on a clock card, that clock busts. Match the clocks without busting three times and everybody wins!
Stand-Up Toolbox Photo Frame Craft Kit + Extra Foam Stickers
A simple photo frame craft that requires you to decorate the frame (the blue part) using the included foam stickers. Once finished, you slide the bottom into the black foam base so it can stand on its own. The kit came with a handful of stickers, but there was a separate baggie with even more tools, letters, and fun shapes.
Dig, Dogs, Dig: A Construction Tail
This early reader book ties in perfectly with the theme and follows a group of construction worker dogs as they build a new park. A great book for my kindergarteners’ reading level.
Collectible Pin
Each box always includes a collectible pin. June’s featured a cat sitting atop a construction vehicle. Cute!
Caution: Construction Zone Sticker Book
This book was jam-packed with 208 construction-related stickers. It included road signs, tools, vehicles, hard hats, and lots more.
My Fairy Tale Conversation Cards for Dinner Conversation Starters
Four 2-sided “conversation cards” were provided to open up conversation between you and your child(ren) at dinnertime. Topics ranged from what your favorite thing about your family is, to “If you had to live with a cartoon character, who would you pick and why?”.
Postcards
Prior to receiving our box, we were also sent postcards from Santa Claus himself, as well as another card which my girls ran off with and was never seen again. 😉 Subscribers of the “PLUS” box & the Postcard subscription will also receive a new personalized card on a weekly basis.
Yet another fun offering from My Fairy Tale Box! We all look forward to this box every month and it’s definitely one of our current favorites. Our favorite items from June’s box were the Picasso Tiles take apart tractor, Perfect Timing game, cards, watercolors, and pin. 🙂 — Remember, for a limited time you can save 25% on your first order with coupon code “2LR25“!
