Adelle Hickey Notebook (County Dublin)
Adelle Hickey is an Irish artist and designer who takes her inspiration from the symbolism of intertwined knots in traditional Irish Visual Culture. Her designs are created by hand and reproduced using a secret technique to create an individual collection of stationery and prints. The notebook above was designed and made in Dublin using linen and unbleached cotton paper. It features unlined white pages, making it ideal for both journaling and sketching/drawing.
Six0SixDesign Pencils & Poem (County Kildare)
Wrapped in parchment printed with an extract of Yeats’ “The Lake Isle of Innisfree” were two hand-covered pencils that also bore lines from the same poem. Designer Vanessa Scott-Hayward makes all of her items from her studio in a little village in Co. Kildare, Ireland. She uses paper and an array of vintage materials sourced from second hand shops, auction houses, flea markets, and book shops to create her unique pieces.
As promised, MyIrelandBox delivered a gorgeous collection of Irish-crafted goods. I like that they include background information on each of the different artists/designers so subscribers can get a better idea of who was behind each creation. A great subscription for lovers of Ireland or anyone who appreciates unique, hand-crafted wares. 🙂
