Bestowed is a monthly subscription box that features healthy snacks & foods carefully chosen by nutritionist/author Heather Bauer.
Boxes are only $19/month (including shipping!) and contain a nice variety of different snacks, food items, and beverages to help you start or maintain a healthy lifestyle.
November’s box focuses on products that’ll help you “kick your workout regimen into gear”. Being the lazy turd that I am, I don’t have any regimen that needs gear kicking. Lucky for me, you don’t need to be a pro athlete to enjoy this box. In yo’ face, fitness! Erm… Yeah. Let’s go ahead and see what’s in the box.
Life Ice – Well this is something different. It’s a tray of tiny flavored ice cubes made with coconut milk, agave, and other natural ingredients. One serving is 24 cubes and only 30 calories.
Wild Garden Hummus Dip – I think this is the third time I’ve gotten this in a sub box. I wish I’d at least get to try a different flavor… It’s always roasted garlic. I keep trying to convince myself to like hummus, but it just doesn’t happen. 🙁
Questbar in Chocolate Peanut Butter – All natural, high fiber protein bar made without sugar or artificial sweeteners. Gluten free.
Skratch Exercise Hydration Mix – Exercise? Pfft. I suppose I could use this just for a little extra hydration? I do like that it’s flavored with real freeze dried fruit. I’ll give it a try.
Perfect Fuel Chocolate – Okay, now this I like… Endurance in the form of a chocolate bar. This little chunk of dark chocolate is packed with antioxidants to provide natural energy and vitality. It’s also vegan and gluten free. Woo!
Crunchmaster Multi-Seed Crackers – This is a pretty good sized bag (4.5 oz)! These are oven baked whole grain crackers that are all natural and certified gluten free (and vegan!).
Salba Chia Boost – Two 1-serving packets of chia seeds; one ground and one whole seed. I used the ground packet in a smoothie today and it wasn’t too bad. It just gave it a much thicker texture, which is fine with me. It’s worth it for the health benefits of chia (I need those Omega 3’s!).
Zico Chocolate Flavored Coconut Water – I’m pretty sure I’ve gotten coconut water in another box once, but I can’t remember what happened to it. I don’t think I drank it… Or did I? Nah, I don’t think I did. Anywhoooo… I’m almost positive that I’ve never tried coconut water before. I heard it’s good to use in smoothies, but the info card also suggests making hot cocoa with it by mixing in a little almond milk. Worth a shot.
Eat Green Tea – I’ve seen this in other boxes and knew I’d get some eventually… and here it is. It’s basically green tea that you eat. It contains 100 times more antioxidants than brewed tea. I gotta say, I’m a little nervous to try it. According to the package, you can mix it into or sprinkle it on top of just about anything you eat. Mac n’ cheese sprinkled with green tea, anyone? Mmmm.
Nektar Honey Crystals – This is 100% all natural granulated honey. Normally I wouldn’t be too excited about this, but I’ve got a wicked bad cold right now and have been drinking tea like crazy… These will be a great addition to it. Good timing.
