Yay! I got my Ecocentric Mom box this month without seeing any spoilers first! I love when that happens.
This is actually the second-last “monthly” box from Ecocentric Mom, as they’ve just announced a change in box frequency. After November’s box, they’ll be sending them out every-other-month, as opposed to monthly. They also made mention of a waiting list for new members at some point. Hint, hint… If you’re on the fence about subscribing, now would be a good time to go for it. Just sayin’. ๐
Okay, onto the box…
Happy Yogis Yogurt & Fruit Snacks – I got excited at first when I saw these, because I thought they were the coconut milk based melts that we like. I was kinda bummed to see that they were dairy-based, as I try to limit the amount of dairy I feed the girls, but what can ya do. I really like Happy Baby products, so at least I’m still giving them a healthy, organic snack.
Jack N’ Jill Natural Toothpaste – I’ve gotten this brand of toothpaste in another box, but in raspberry flavor. (I have a nice little stockpile of natural toothpastes now, thanks to sub boxes.) This is sugar free, fluoride free, color free, BPA free… A whole lotta free. Plus, it’s naturally flavored with organic blueberries. Fancy that.
Bumkins Reusable Flannel Wipes (12 count) – These are 100% unbleached cotton wipes. To be honest, I really don’t have any use for these. We don’t do the cloth diaper thing (don’t judge), so we’re definitely not gonna use reusable wipes. I probably would have used them as burp cloths when the girls were smaller, but thankfully we no longer have a use for those either. ๐
Susan Brown’s Baby Foaming Shampoo & Body Wash – As with the natural toothpaste, I also have a growing stockpile of natural baby shampoo thanks to sub boxes. I’m definitely not complaining. The good stuff is NOT cheap. This one is a foaming wash, which is pretty neat. It promises “clouds of foam” to make bath time fun. It’s tear-free and gently removes cradle cap too.
Aquatowel – I received five of these single-use “premium personal towels”. They’re water-based and safe for your entire body. I’m thinking diaper bag.
Rockin’ Green Laundry Detergent – I received two samples of this lavender-mint scented detergent. It’s super eco-friendly and great for cloth diapers (and, ya know, regular laundry for evil jerks like me who don’t use cloth diapers). It’s also dye-free, vegan, and naturally scented.
Gnu Foods Fiber Love Bars – I was happy to see that these bars were vegan. Woo! I ate the Chocolate Brownie one shortly after opening the box and it was GOOD. It was soft, yet crunchy at the same time (like a brownie with chopped nuts). I was surprised to see that just one bar has 48% of the daily recommendation of fiber. Crazy. If you need a little help with your turds, this is your bar! ๐
RW Garcia Curry & Mango Dipping Chips – These are gluten-free, non-GMO (and vegan!) dippin’ chips. Curry & mango seem like an interesting choice for tortilla chips, so color me intrigued. Yep.
So that was my October Ecocentric Mom box. It wasn’t my favorite, but it also wasn’t bad. Most of the things will get used/eaten, so it’s a win.
