Growing up, I was never really a fan of jerky — mainly because I had no idea what kinda gross animal parts were lurking inside of ’em. Ew. However, now that I’m vegan jerky is no longer on my “nope, not eatin’ that” list. (Well, vegan jerky anyway.)
Primal Strips by Primal Spirit Foods are 100% vegan, meatless single-serve jerky strips that take the fear out of jerky. No gross animal bits in these guys!

Prior to reviewing the following products, I had no idea what baobab was. NO. IDEA. Hopefully I’m not alone in my baobab ignorance… Let’s learn together! Weeee! 😉
So what is baobab? It’s basically the “King of Superfruits”, that’s what! Produced by the African baobab tree, it’s a raw food that’s bursting with nutritional benefits. It has more antioxidants than the other more commonly known fruits — acai, blueberries, pomegranates and goji berries. Citrus Lane recently offered a special “Mystery Box” for a one-time cost of $29. It promised to include $60 worth of products, so I had to order one. Try as I might, I just cannot resist the lure of a mystery box. Can not.
Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription for babies/kids aged newborn-5. It’s $29/month (cheaper with longer subs) and includes a nice assortment of toys, books, snacks, toiletries, etc. Sometimes they even include a gift for mom.
This is only the second mystery box that Citrus Lane has ever offered (at least for as long as I’ve been a subscriber). The first one was for babies 0-12 months and sold out before I could even think of buying one. In hindsight, I’m glad I didn’t get that one, because they soon offered a mystery box for 12-24 month olds. That’s the box I’ll be reviewing. Let the mystery be revealed! [read more…]

As with last month’s box, I was thrilled to see that everything in March’s box is vegan-friendly (well, except for one product which contains honey). Bike Loot certainly doesn’t claim to be a vegan box, but it’s always a nice bonus (for me anyway) when the products are. Woo!

Ecocentric Mom recently switched from a monthly box to an every-other-month box. This is the second box I’ve received on their new “schedule”. I’ve been pretty happy with the change, as the boxes are still full of great stuff and now I have more time to use them between shipments.
As always, I received the “Mom & Baby” box. The other two options available are a “Mom-to-Be Box” and just a plain ol’ “Mom” box. Subscriptions are $24/every-other-month, but they often have discount codes available that are usually good for the life of your sub. (I was able to score a discounted subscription not too long ago and now my boxes are only $18/month. Not bad!)
