Panda Pals is a “play and learn” monthly sock subscription created just for kids.
Each shipment will include two colorful pairs of socks, along with fun and educational activities — aka “Socktivities”. The socks fit children 3 through 8 and are available in two sizes. For every subscription purchased, Sock Panda (the parent company of Panda Pals) donates a pair of socks to kids in need.
Subscriptions are $15/month with shipping included. For a limited time, you can save 15% with coupon code “PAL”.
Let’s see what’s in the February 2016 Panda Pals package!
Everything was shipped in a bright yellow envelope with colorful sock & panda themed graphics.
A welcome letter detailed what you’ll find in your first Panda Pals Socktivity Kit. Each month a new character and set of activities will be featured.
A bright blue Panda Pals folder that held all of the month’s materials.
Sock Island Map – The inside of the folder featured a map of Sock Island, where the Panda Pals live and play. The rest of the materials can be seen on the right side of the map (I probably should have moved them for the photo. 😉 ).
The Socks – Two pairs of brightly colored socks were included. One featured a yellow and blue color scheme with various shapes, while the other included Nikos the panda. Panda Pals socks are made of soft, high quality Peruvian cotton. They also have a unique feature — a snap at the top which holds both of the socks together so they won’t get separated in the wash or in your little one’s dresser drawers. Neat!
A separate envelope included all of the materials for this month’s Socktivity Lesson — Shapes.
Activity Worksheet – A Socktivity worksheet provided little ones with fun activities including a sock search, panda maze, letter tracing, and more. There was also space on the other side of the sheet for your child to “create a design or picture using shapes”.
Story – I somehow forgot to take a photo of the actual story, but it was a comic-style two page spread about Nikos the panda solving a problem using shapes.
Cut Out and Play Nikos – An adult can help cut out a paper Nikos for pretend play.
Sock Island Stickers – Use these colorful stickers to decorate the Sock Island map.
Panda Pals is definitely a unique subscription for kids. I like that it includes something as useful/practical as socks, as well as educational activities for kiddos to enjoy. Another plus is that they donate a pair of socks to a child in need with every subscription purchased. Win-win!
