A peek inside!
A summer-themed info card let us know that this is the August 2019 box.
Sketch Safari Flocked Pencils
Just in time for back to school, we have this set of “flocked” safari-themed pencils. I used to love novelty pencils like this when I was a kid — so fuzzy! The reusable tin contains 8 pencils in all with designs including zebra, cheetah, peacock, giraffe, tiger, and more. My daughters have to use traditional #2 pencils at school, but these will be fun for home use.
American Crafts Heidi Swapp Marquee Light Kit (linked to similar)
A fun item for a kid’s room or maybe college dorm, this marquee kit includes everything needed to create your own DIY marquee light. It consists of a 3D arrow shape, one LED light strand with on/off battery switch, one tracing template, two decorative tape rolls, and 9 clear bulb caps. You can even get extra creative by adding patterned paper, chunky glitter, paint, or whatever other supplies you have on hand. Oh — and you’ll also want to have 2 AAA batteries at the ready, as those are not included.
Polaroid Fotobar Magnetic Shadowbox
I’m not entirely sure how this shadowbox/frame is supposed to be displayed. Rather, how it’s supposed to display a photo. The gray rectangle in the middle is magnetic and it comes with a polaroid photo frame magnet as shown above. The magnet has a peel n’ stick front, which I’m guessing is where you’re supposed to attach your photo? There’s no glass or anything, so… I don’t know. I’ll probably just let my kids stick magnets on it and call it art. 😉
Fruit Fix Fruit Infusion Bath Salts
This package contains five individually wrapped bath salt “teabags” in various fruit scents. They can be combined in the bath to make your own unique “fruit infusion” or enjoyed one at a time. Scents include Refreshing Orange, Invigorating Ginger, Pomegranate Passion, Pick-Me-Up-Peppermint, and Zingy Grapefruit.
Love is in the Air Kissing Notebook
I didn’t know it until I did a little Googling, but this notebook features a quote from Audrey Hepburn — “I believe in kissing, kissing a lot”. Inside are 36 unlined pages with pretty heart bokeh photos on the inside front & back cover.
August’s Peaches & Petals box featured plenty of fun & quirky items, many of which would be great for tweens/teens. I got lots of “dorm room” vibes from the marquee light kit and photo frame, which is fine as this subscription often seems geared more towards 20-somethings or younger. I didn’t do a cost breakdown, but the overall value this month seemed to be pretty high and it was nice to see 5 items. 🙂 — Remember, if you’d like try Peaches & Petals you can save 10% on your first box with coupon code “PEACH10%”.
