Pop in a Box is a subscription box that sends you a surprise selection of Funko POP! vinyl figures every month.
When you sign up, you’ll be able to use their “Pop Tracker” to select which Pops you already own. This way, you’ll not only be guaranteed not to receive a figure that you already have, but it’s also a great way to easily keep track of your collection. Pop in a Box has hundreds of Pops available, with more being added all the time. To ensure that you don’t get a Pop that you don’t want, there’s an option to “thumbs up or thumbs down” each and every figure. Anything marked thumbs down will NEVER be sent to you (same goes for the Pops that you flagged as already in your collection). Subscribers also have a chance to win exclusive Pops every month!
Subscriptions start at $9.99/month for one pop (plus $4.99 shipping) and go up to $104/month for 12 pops ($8.67 per pop). There are also options for 2, 3, 6, and 8 item boxes.
I recently received a 2-Pop box, so…
Let’s see what’s in the February 2016 Pop in a Box!
The Pops were shipped in a plain brown box via FedEx.
A peek inside.
There wasn’t an info card, since everyone gets a customized selection of Pops every month. There are definitely no frills with this subscription… simply Pops in a Box. 😉
Here’s a look at how you “thumbs up” and “thumbs down” the Pops. You can also just buy them outright if it’s something you want ASAP. Shop orders ship free for all subscribers.
#208 Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite – Ah, good ol’ Uncle Rico. I’m not a big fan of superheroes and the like, so I thumbs-upped mainly movie and TV show figures. It kinda looks like Rico’s football is actually a giant coffee bean which makes me like this figure even more. 😉
#96 The Walking Dead Biker Daryl – Woo! Daryl! This is a Previews Exclusive figure of Biker Daryl looking all disheveled and wielding a knife & crossbow. I looked this version up on Amazon and it’s currently selling there for $22.99. Nice!
Here’s a screenshot of my “collection” in the Pop in a Box “Pop Tracker”. It’s actually a really great (and easy) way to keep track of all your figures.
Overall, I’m totally pleased with my first Pop in a Box experience. I love how they ensure you’ll never get a Pop you already have or that you don’t want. The monthly subscription cost is very reasonable too. I was sent the 2-Pop box which is $18.99/mo (plus $4.99 shipping) and I received two Pops that are selling for $22.99 (Daryl) and $10.88 (Rico) on Amazon. Clearly a great deal! 😀
