Robb Vices is a new subscription box that sends you a unique selection of expertly curated, high end products every month. I reviewed their August box not too long ago and was super impressed… This September offering? Beyond impressed! (The value is seriously the highest I’ve ever seen in a single subscription box.)
When you sign up to be a Robb Vices member, you’ll receive a monthly box featuring handpicked, top-of-the-line items in categories ranging from food & drink, to tools & toys, fashion-related items, and more. To quote their site: This isn’t for everyone. This is for the individuals who care about why something is considered great, want to discover the story behind it, and share what they have with those who matter to them. Translation: They send some seriously impressive stuff!
Subscriptions are $74.95/month, or less with multi-month commitments. For a limited time, you can save 10% on any subscription plan of 3 months or more with coupon code “GOODFRIEND“.
Let’s see what’s in the September 2015 Robb Vices box!
The box was very large and quite heavy. Since I hadn’t seen any spoilers, I had no idea what would be inside and couldn’t wait to find out…
A look inside!
I was happy to see that they had upgraded from a single info card to a full-color info booklet. It contained an explanation of the month’s theme — “Reset” — and detailed information on each of the products inside. September’s items were chosen to encourage you to set aside some alone time to “sip something special, enjoy a bite of something different, and play some music that moves your soul”.
Master & Dynamic MH40 Over-Ear Headphones ($399) – Nope, that’s not a typo. These headphones retail for $399! (They’re even on Amazon for the same price.) Master & Dynamic refers to them as “modern thinking caps: tools to help focus, inspire, and transport your mind”. They’re expertly crafted with top-of-the-line materials including premium leather, stainless steel, forged aluminum, and heavy duty detachable woven cables with oxygen-free copper. Accessories included a custom leather cable box, as well as a headphone carrying case (which I didn’t see hidden in the box until after the photos were taken). While I won’t personally use these (the whole vegan/leather issue), I’m beyond impressed that they were included in a $75 subscription box! Amazing. — And there’s more!
Dolce Napa Valley Late Harvest Wine ($85) – Okay, so if the $400 headphones weren’t enough, they also threw in an $85 bottle of wine. Whaaat? Yep. I know absolutely nothing about wine, so I borrowed the following description from Dolce’s website: “Aromas of apricot, poached pear and orange rind dominate the more subtle clove and mineral notes. The flavors mimic the aromas on the nose, melding with a mouthwatering texture and added notes of juicy orange and citrus blossom. This wine shows the restraint of youthfulness with the expectation that its bottle bouquet will emerge with a few more years of bottle age.” Sounds good to me!
The Art of Caramel Artisanal Carameled Popcorn ($18) – Fancy headphones and fancy wine call for equally fancy popcorn. This all natural, handmade treat is air-popped and smothered in brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt. It’s then finished off with Kentucky bourbon and black pepper for a truly unique flavor experience.
Wow. Just… wow. The September Robb Vices box is by far the most high valued subscription box I’ve ever received. The total value of the three included items? $502. Insane. I honestly don’t know why there isn’t more buzz about this subscription, because it TOTALLY deserves it. If you’d like to get in on the action, you can save 10% on any subscription plan of 3 months or more with coupon code “GOODFRIEND“. You won’t be sorry. 😉

Is this box still available?
Wendy Rose
I know it’s still available if you sign up for a year with coupon code “SEMPER”, but if you sign up with a shorter plan, I’m not sure if you’d get it. You might want to email them or ask on their Facebook page to be sure. 🙂

I signed up for Robb Vices last month and this month was my first box. I was so excited to receive my 1st box…until I opened it. Mini booze bottles and pineapple shakers. Ummm…what?? When you fill out the application there’s a question which asks you if you prefer to have a box without alcohol. And that’s what I chose. And I just received a box that’s entirely alcohol. But here’s the kicker: I had a question a few weeks ago about delivery since I was going to be out of town so I emailed them…that email address doesn’t work. Then I called the number, it’s a free Google Voice number- not a professional office building as you might expect from a company belonging to Robb Report – belonging to “Daniel” (I believe) who never bothered to return my call. This company is so unprofessional and I’m so damn unimpressed with them right now.
