Rocksbox is a subscription based “try before you buy” jewelry service that allows you to rent or buy pieces from a collection of trendy, yet affordable designers.
Upon signing up, you’ll be asked to complete a style quiz that helps Rocksbox determine the jewelry styles that best suit your needs. You can specify metal type, earring styles, ring size, stone preference, and more. You can also omit jewelry you don’t have a use for — I no longer have pierced ears, so I choose the “no earrings” option.
Disclosure: Box was received for review purposes. Post may contain affiliate/referral links.
At the end of the style quiz, you’ll have a chance to indicate additional preferences — such as designers you like/dislike, any metal allergies, upcoming events, etc. Rocksbox carries popular designers such as Kate Spade, Kendra Scott, Gorjana, Slate, Aster, Sophie Harper, and more.
Next, you can browse all of the available jewelry and add your favorites to your wishlist.
Rocksbox recommends adding at least 30 items to your wishlist so their stylists can start preparing your first box with those selections in mind. There is no limit to how many items you can add. You can also rank your top 10 favorite pieces, which are moved to the top of your wishlist and given preference over the others.
Once your stylist curates your first collection, you’ll receive an email to preview the set and swap out any pieces for others that better suit you. — I LOVE this option, as it ultimately gives you full control over the pieces you receive.
When you receive your box, you can keep and wear the pieces as long as you’d like. The $21/month membership fee allows you to “rent” an unlimited amount of sets in that single-month period. If you decide to purchase any of the pieces, you’ll be able to use the $21 fee right towards the cost of the item(s). (You’ll also get an extra $10 discount if you decide to keep all 3 pieces!) Anything you choose to return is simply shipped back to Rocksbox in the pre-paid shipping envelope included with each box.

Okay, let’s check out my June 2023 Rocksbox!
My jewelry was shipped in a white padded envelope via First Class Mail. — Make sure you open it carefully, as you’ll need to use this same envelope to mail back any items you choose not to keep.
All of the pieces were tucked into a small lidded box that’s 100% recyclable & made in the USA.
A peek inside!
All of the pieces in my new set were detailed on the label above (also shown in the screenshot from my account). It included the retail prices vs. member prices for each item, along with any discounts and credits I may have earned. (Members receive $25 in “forever credit” for each person they refer to Rocksbox. This credit can be used to purchase any item(s) in your set. All members receive special pricing that’s almost always lower than retail.)
Each piece of jewelry was individually packaged in its own custom drawstring bag.
Perry Street Polly Earrings (Member Price: $45 — or $24 after monthly credit)
I had totally forgotten to customize my selections this month and was sent three pairs of earrings — all in very different styles. These fun “Polly” earrings by Perry Street feature two chunky resin links in pink and turquoise, held together by a smaller gold link in the middle. The posts and studs are made of 14k gold plating over brass. Each earring measures approximately 1.75 inches in length and are surprisingly lightweight.
Rudiment Ferry Stud Pack (Member Price: $65 — or $44 after monthly credit)
My kids (and husband) have been all about the newest Zelda game, so that may be why it was the first thing I thought of when I saw these little studs. The green and gold color scheme, the triangles (triforce!)… So Zelda! 🙂 Both sets of earrings are made of 14k gold over brass with stainless steel post backs. The top pair are teeny tiny pave triangles, while the bottom are vertical gold bar studs lined with emerald green crystals.
Kendra Scott Daya Earrings in Gold (Member Price: $140 — or $119 after monthly credit)
The final selection was this pair of “Daya” earrings by Kendra Scott. Unlike the whimsical “Zelda” studs above, these are definitely more suitable for a fancier holiday party or romantic date night out. They’re also on the heavier side, thanks to the trio of chandelier-like strands of shimmering crystals. Each earring measures roughly 3.5 inches long and is comprised of 18k gold plating over sterling silver.
As mentioned earlier, Rocksbox provides a pre-paid shipping label to return any of the items that you don’t want to purchase. Once you’re finished trying them on/out, just place them right back in the box they came in and ship them back so they can start building your next set. Easy!
Although I forgot to customize my box this month, it was still fun to check out the pieces Rocksbox chose for me. 🙂 My favorite pieces were the fun Rudiment Ferry Studs and ultra fancy Kendra Scott Daya Earrings. — Remember, for a limited time you can score a full month of Rocksbox for FREE (along with a $21 credit) when you use coupon code “2littlerosebudsxoxo” at checkout!
