Let’s see what’s in the Sago Mini Box “Bugs” themed box!
Everything was shipped in a small brown box with cute bug-themed graphics.
A peek inside!
A 2-sided information card listed all of the activities we’d find inside and revealed the featured character figurine — Rowan the Fox!
All of activities were tucked into their own colorful envelopes with each activity’s name/number printed on the front.
The inside of the box was printed with fun graphics and would be utilized later for one of the activities.
Sago Mini “Rowan the Fox” Figurine
The “Bugs” box included an adorable Rowan the Fox figurine sporting a pair of binoculars for bug-watching from afar. 😉 He measures roughly 2.5-3 inches tall and couldn’t be any cuter.
Activity 1: Bug Bingo
The first activity was “Bug Bingo”! Materials included a letter from Robin, a punch-out bugs sheet, 2 bingo cards, and shredded paper. (The shipping box will also be utilized for this activity.) Full instructions were printed on the back of the envelope.
First, we needed to turn the shipping box inside-out and punch out the perforated shapes on the lid. Once ready, we filled the empty box with the shredded paper and added the various bugs that we popped out of the bugs sheet above.
To play the game, each of my kiddos were given a bingo board and took turns reaching into the box to pull out one of the bugs.
The bugs were placed on the corresponding spots on their boards and once they were able to get three in a row, they got to call “bingo!”. My girls are a bit older than the intended age group for this box, but they still had fun and swooned over how cute all of the bugs were. 🙂
Activity 2: Build-a-Bug
The second activity was “Build-a-Bug”. Materials included a letter from Rowan, 2 sheets of punch-out bug parts, and 2 packages of air dry clay.
After punching out all of the bug “parts”, the girls were ready to build their creations!
Butterfly in-progress.
Butterfly complete!
Butterfly(??) number 2!
We let the finished creations air-dry overnight and they turned out super cute! Although not a bug, I do have to say that the silly carrot friend is my favorite. 😉
Activity 3: Ant Picnic Game
The final activity was “Ant Picnic Game”. Materials included a letter from Rosie, an ant headband, picnic blanket, an ant hill, and 2 sheets of punch-out foods.
I only snapped one photo, since the game required constant movement. To begin, you needed to first put on the ant headband (which looked hilariously adorable on my now 8-year old!), place the ant hill on the floor, and place the picnic “blanket” and pile of food far away from the ant hill. To play, you were to pick up one of the pieces of food and place it on your back and then crawl back to the ant hill to place it inside without it falling off on the way. The game was over when all of the food had been delivered.
Sago Mini Box is such a cute subscription for preschool aged kiddos! All of the materials were easy to assemble/work with and much sturdier than I had anticipated. The characters and images are absolutely adorable and are sure to be a hit with preschoolers and even more so for fans of the Sago Mini apps. The fact that my 8-year-olds were still able to enjoy it proves that even older kiddos can have fun with this very hands-on subscription. 😀 — Remember, for a limited time, you can get your first box for just $10 with coupon code “10FIRSTBOX“!
