April SnackSack time! — There was a bit of a change this month and for the first time the box came… sack-less! Ahh!
If you haven’t heard, SnackSack is a relatively new subscription box that focuses on delivering natural, “junk-free” snacks to your door every month. All of the snacks included will be free of “artificial junk” and offer a mixture of all natural, vegan, organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, and fair trade products. They’ll all be tucked inside a reusable burlap sack, which is shipped in a large box for ultimate snack protection.
Subscriptions are $24.95/month with free shipping. Discounts are also available for multi-month plans. — For a limited time, you can save 10% on your first box with coupon code “ROSE10″!
Let’s see what’s in the April 2016 SnackSack!
The big white SnackSack box!
A peek inside. (See? No sack!!) Honestly, the sack was kind of pointless considering all of the snacks didn’t fit inside of the thing. Sure, the name of the box is SnackSack, but whatever… Peace out, sack!
The information card listed everything inside, along with helpful symbols next to each one indicating whether it’s vegan, gluten-free, and/or non-GMO.
Beanitos Hint of Lime Chips – I love bean chips! These ones are made with navy beans, long grain rice, lime oil, and other all natural ingredients. They’re vegan, gluten-free, and delicious.
Beanitos Baked White Bean Mac n’ Cheese Crunch – Baked cheese puffs made with non-GMO ingredients including whole navy beans, long grain rice, cheddar cheese, and black pepper.
You Love Fruit Key Lime Handmade Fruit Leather – I’ve had these fruit leather snacks before and I LOVE them! They come packaged on a wax paper strip which you peel them off of one by one (like a fruit roll-up, but so much better). Plus, each bite-sized leather “piece” is heart-shaped! This lime flavor was delicious and my girls and I may have battled over the last piece (they won).
Somersaults Cinnamon Baked Snacks – These crunchy little sunflower seed bites are surprisingly addictive. A satisfying nut-free snack packed with plenty of fiber & protein rich seeds.
Justin’s Honey Almond Butter – A convenient single-serve packet of all natural honey flavored almond butter. I always use these for banana-cocoa-almond-butter smoothies. Mmm!
Cocomels Vanilla Coconut Milk Caramels – I was so excited when I saw the familiar Cocomels logo peeking out from the box. These are the best damn vegan-friendly, gluten-free caramels EVER. Trust me. SO good.
Chinook Seedery Smokehouse BBQ Sunflower Seeds – I’m not a huge fan of in-shell sunflower seeds (too much work!), but I do love smokey BBQ flavor so I may have to give these GMO-free seeds a try.
Made in Nature Tart Cherries – Organic cherries sweetened with organic apple juice. No refined sugar added. Works for me.
Raw Rev Glo Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar – I’ve gotten quite a few of these vegan-friendly snack bars in subscription boxes but i think this is the first time I’ve got cookie dough flavor. Sounds delicious!
FreeYumm Honey Apple Oat Bar – This is a totally new to me brand and I was happy to see that it’s free of the 8 major allergens including dairy, eggs, gluten, tree nuts, and soy.
Flyjoy Coconut Macaroon Bar – A vegan-friendly energy bar made with ancient grains including chia, flax, quinoa, and gluten-free rolled oats. It’s packed with fiber and plant-based omega 3.
Steamm Espresso Organic Raw Cacao – According to their website, this bottled espresso is a simple twist on the classic favorite. It’s steeped in raw Peruvian cacao and lightly sweetened with stevia, adding a subtle chocolate note and beneficial antioxidants.
Sheila G’s Salted Caramel Brownie Brittle – These are basically caramel brownies in chip form. My mom is obsessed with them and was happy to claim the bag when she stopped by earlier. You’re welcome, mom. 😉
Kobaya Black Pepper Coated Almonds – Whole, fresh roasted almonds in a rice flour coating flavored with sea salt and black pepper. Gluten-free and vegan-friendly.
SnackSack does it again! Despite the lack of its trademark sack, the box was still as full as ever. I was happy to see so many vegan snacks this month — especially those Cocomels! 😀
